My name is Katherine Lords, however, I prefer to go by Katie or the occasional nickname of Kat. An interesting fact about me is that I was named after both my grandmothers, inheriting my first name from my paternal grandma and a English translation of my maternal grandma’s name as my middle name. I was born in July of 1996 in a small town in the southern central coast area of California, and moved with my family to Salt Lake City in December of 2001 for my dad’s job, as well as to be closer to my grandparents. I am the older of two children; with a sister who is four years my junior, of whom I absolutely love. I enjoy exploring the world around me, meeting new people, learning new things, and spending time with those who mean the most to me. As far as hobbies go, I enjoy interesting conversations, long walks on the beach, cuddling and playing with my dogs, hanging out with my friends, spending an obscene amount of time in coffee shops, going to the gym, practicing yoga, swimming, reading, do-it-yourself projects, and listening to music, just to name a few. Also, if I could, I would add avid lover of Pinterest and Netflix to my rather long list of hobbies.

I’m a fun loving, rambunctious, sarcastic, curious, happy-go-lucky kind of girl who is quite timid and very rarely, shy. I’ve found that in life, if you can’t laugh at yourself, then you’re taking everything way too seriously, which I am not always so good at.I give one hundred and ten percent to everything I do, and I am a recovering perfectionist. I have had a few leadership positions in the past, mainly throughout my high school career, and enjoy volunteering at various non-profits around the valley. All my previous job experience up until this point has been kid-centric, so I am excited to work as a Peer Advisor in the LEAP program among my peers.
