HI David

Yes. The troublesome one is too. I’m going to try to get to that one yet tonight and try Hanne’s suggestions.

I’ll let you know ASAP.

Tom,

Please review with MeLisa and Dan how you can log any updates, firmware, model abbreviation on samples / demo units.

That way the data stays in one place

HI Dan

Last night I put together an excel sheet that I’m keeping to archive for my records and to document its settings and condition, etc.

All; Please see “Starin Configuration” tab on attached DRAFT spread sheet. We have choices on how you want the Barco Demo kits to leave here. It is not complete yet, but you can get the idea of what we can do, and it’s a place to start. I believe that I can easily install the custom configuration during each PitStop. Just send your ideas to Dan Drees, and I’ll make changes to our configuration file as requested by Dan and install on all units that come through PitStop. We can then include a Starinized PitStop guide stating each of the pertinent settings if needed for reference. If no one has any preferences, then I can just return all settings to factory default. These files would be too large to make available on the Barco/Starin portal in case a dealer/future customer has done something to make their unit unusable.

Accessories;

Please let us know exactly what is required with each kit. Melisa can manage when she returns but I guess I need to take care of these units this week. We can add these to the “PitStop Checklist” and “PitStop Form”. (See next topic below.)

PitStop Checklist;

Please see “PitStop Checklist” tab. Once we determine the criteria that are essential to meet prior to shipping the unit out, we would use this as we perform the testing.

Pitstop Form; See “PitStop Form” tab. It is a very rough draft. I picture this as a professional looking Starinized document to be inserted into each box upon completion of a PitStop.

These are just my ideas, so please send your recommendations to Dan and I’ll work with him to implement.

Thanks!

Hi Dan

I was able to get 3 done last night. One is missing the DVI/VGA adaptor but we can get that from another unit and order some more.

You all probably knew already, but I discovered that we can load a configuration file to have the settings the same for each unit that goes out. Please let me know what settings you feel are important and I’ll add them to the master configuration of each unit that comes through PitStop.

If you’re coming over this morning, check the traffic news first. I just heard that the 80/94 eastbound has been shut down since 3:00AM.

Tom,

I was going to stop in tomorrow around mid day (early afternoon) to help work on some of the updates and coordinate the shipping of some units.

Do you think we will have some ready to go out by then?

Hi David

I’ll set up in the conference room but the only computer I will have is my laptop. I don’t imagine that I can see the webex and use the ClickShare simultaneously. Correct? If I can’t, then we can just do a phone conference.

I’m set up. Let me know how you want me to contact you.

Thanks!

Hi David

I took one unit home last night to poke around to learn.

I updated the software in the base and buttons, they communicate, but I’m not able to send my laptop images to the display. I’ll need your input.

Also, I think that Hanne’s comment about the base unit’s stopping/freezing occurred. After I updated the firmware, the unit did not reboot on its own. I had to push the front panel button to get it to start. (after it finished the update) It began to go through POST and stopped mid-way for about 3 minutes. I was about to do a manual restart, when it continued to go through boot and completed. I could not monitor the progress on the laptop display. I checked the software version and it did indeed update.

I’ll get setup and have two units ready to go through if needed. I can get together any time. I usually take lunch from about 2:00-3:00 central time.

I appreciate your assistance!

Dear all,

There was a mistake in my previous e-mail which described the most important changes in the software update:

The pre installed ClickShare launcher service is not yet available on the Button. This will be available in the next software update.

My apologies for the misunderstanding.

Kind regards,

Hanne

Subject: Software update

Dear all,

We have a new software update available for the beta units.

Most important changes:

-  The frame rate has improved compared to the previous version

-  Pairing has improved and the base unit shows feedback on the pairing progress

-  The pre installed ClickShare launcher service is available on the Button in the folder “Advanced”. Installing this service on your laptop will result in a true plug and play experience for the user. After you have restarted your computer, it will recognize when a Button has been plugged in and will automatically launch the application from the Button

We have tested this software in Barco meeting rooms and no major issues have been reported.

I have put the software and the release notes on the FTP server.

Host: ftp.barco.com

Username: hanp_clickshare

Password: 4gai5xq

Please proceed as follows:

1.  Set up the Base Unit, make sure you have all the ClickShare Buttons with you and your own laptop. You will need internet connection to access the FTP server.

2.  Update the Base Unit software, using the wireless connection. Please refer to the manual R5900003_AA_IT_Facilities_20120511_draft.pdf, p5 and p24

3.  Update and pair the ClickShare Buttons, using the manual R5900003_AA_IT_Facilities_20120511_draft.pdf, p26.

Differences with the previous update:

-  it is not required to erase the ClickShare Buttons before you do the update

-  the LEDs give now correct indication of the progress

Note: there is one issue that has a (very) low probability of occurring: the Base Unit can get stuck during booting, usually during the time when the led controller is starting. I will put a manual on how to correct this issue on the ftp server tomorrow. Please note that this procedure is only allowed to be done by our distribution partner or Barco people.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards,

Hanne
