Book Projects- grade 8

Next, you need to decide on how you will demonstrate your knowledge of the novel using English Language Arts skills (Reading/Viewing, Writing/Representing, Speaking/Listening). You can do many smaller projects, or a handful or larger projects, or a mixture of both.

Projects are assigned a potential point value range. Every time you complete a project you accumulate more points – you never lose points, you only gain them. Each project has a “base” value – if you complete that project well (you show your ELA skills and your knowledge of the novel in a pretty package) you gain at least that amount of points.

REMEMBER – YOUR PROJECT MUST SHOW YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF THE NOVEL!! 

I: individual projects, and P is for partners.

- You can work individually* or as partners. You might work by yourself on one project and with a partner for another project – all at the same time! It is up to you to decide how to organize your time.

*200, 300 and 400 point projects MUST be completed individually( with the exception of some projects where partners may be required).

- For all written products, follow the criteria we have worked on all year. Write out a rough copy, revise, edit, then re-write for a good copy. All written work will be marked on the write traits.

- When choosing a partner, choose wisely because YOU are ultimately responsible for your project completion.

- Groups/partners will be separated if there is any foolishness during class time. Make sure to stay on task and use class time effectively.

FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING GOOD IN THE WORLD, PLEASE BE CREATIVE!! Choose projects that allow you to use your talents. Put some effort into your work. Be productive.
