Presentation

I am a 35-year-old who is very interested in languages. Originally I am from Orrefors in the region of Småland in the south east of Sweden. During my studies I have moved southwards in Sweden and since 1999 I have been living permanently in Malmö, except for a trip around the world a couple of years ago when I was away for six months. My trip brought me to Russia, Hong Kong, China, Australia and USA. In Australia and USA I stayed with native speaking friends for a couple of months.

As you can see in my List of Qualifications below I have been working as a teacher for nine years now and I have been very happy with it. Then I got the opportunity to work with translations on the side and I became very fascinated by it. Now my goal is to work as a translator, preferably full time. That is why I have started my own business, to be able to do it more seriously. For the most part I have translated articles and interviews for a magazine called Julia but during the first three months this year I have translated four books for the publishing company Egmont. Three of them are novels, the fourth is more like a travel book. I have another speciality, technical translation. I have done a large translation for Flowserve Corporation, which is a chemical industry company. Lately I have been taken up as a freelance translator for Euroscript Baltica. Through them I have translated protocols from the European Commission from English to Swedish. Most of my work I have done for Linguistic Systems, Adminserve and Transatlantic Translations.

I have a solid education when it comes to language (english). I have studied as much as you can in Sweden and I have worked in England and travelled the world. I use English as a part of my everyday work. Besides this I have five years experience as a freelance translator. I guarantee fast translations of high quality. I have never missed a dead line. So far I have done my work in Microsoft Word on PC and in TRADOS.
