Job Title: / Volunteer Coordinator
Employer : / Hyde Park Source Limited (HPS)
Terms: / 30 hours per week (4 days per week Tuesday to Friday)
Permanent subject to funding – currently funded until April 2017
Salary: / £21,545 pro rata £17,469 actual.
Include agreed holiday period and bank holidays. 28.8 Days
Purpose of Job: / To develop and deliver the Re:generate Volunteering Project in line with its aims and objectives and promote Hyde Park Source, its work and volunteering opportunities to communities in Leeds..
Responsible to: / The Hyde Park Source Management Committee
Responsible for: / Promotion of the HPS Volunteering Programme and recruitment of suitable volunteers.
Developing new relationships with referral agencies to increase the amount of adults with additional support needs who volunteer with HPS.
Creating appealing volunteer roles.
Maintaining quality standards in the programme.
Day to day management of Volunteer Programme.
Safeguarding – acting as named officer for HPS.
Location of work: / Hyde Park Source premises, other locations as may from time to time be necessary
Organisational Responsibilities: / To work with the staff team to further the aims and objectives of Hyde Park Source, namely “To make social and environmental improvements to local areas whilst ensuring equality of education and training to the wider community”.
To work with the staff team to encourage the active participation of local people in improving their own communities through consultation, training and volunteering opportunities.
Staff are required to be flexible to meet the changing needs of HPS. You are also required, when requested, to undertake any other duties appropriate to role in order to meet the needs of the organisation. This may be on a permanent or temporary basis.
To work constructively with other staff, beneficiaries and management committee to facilitate the organisation’s continuing development.
To participate in regular staff and planning meetings and supervisions and Management Committee meetings as required.
To occasionally take accurate minutes at meetings.
To be actively involved in personal development through training and other opportunities.
To follow and actively promote all HPS policies and procedures including the organisation’s Safeguarding, Confidentiality, Health and Safety and Equality and Diversity policies, both in day-to-day practice and in all areas of HPS’s work.

Key tasks:

/ To publicise and promote the work of HPS, specifically the Volunteering Programme, through social media, the HPS website and local organisations and networks.
To asses and respond to the needs of volunteers, ensuring HPS has accessible and fulfilling roles available.
To offer effective and meaningful support to volunteers with a diversity of needs
Ensuring HPS follows best practice in recruiting, supporting and working with volunteers.
Supporting, advising and training the staff team to work effectively with a diversity of volunteers.
Recruitment, support, supervision and retention of volunteers.
To work closely with referral organisations and Volunteers to create a Personal Development Plan for volunteers.
Producing written risk assessments for individual volunteers and roles ensuring measures are in place for positive engagement and communicate identified risks to HPS staff.
To carry out regular support meetings with volunteers as agreed with Project Coordinator.
Monitoring outcomes and impact for all HPS volunteers.
Establishing exit strategies/progression routes where appropriate for volunteers who leave HP Source.
To monitor and review the volunteer project, developing recording systems and maintaining accurate records.
To produce reports, as required, by the management committee, staff team, partners, funders, and contractors.
Carrying out administration and correspondence in relation to this post in agreement with Project Coordinator.
To be named Safeguarding Officer for HPS with responsibilities for DBS checks, ensuring policy is followed by everyone at HPS, and regular reviews.
Developing networks, partnerships, and projects with other organisations in Leeds to promote the work of HPS and the volunteer project.
