Overcoming Failure
In every life there are obstacles to get over. Sometimes the we are our own worst enemy, placing obstacles to success in our own path.Do you find yourself looking back at you past failures? In today’s teaching, we will learn how to not let the hurt of the past define our future and clear the ‘HURT’le of Past Failure.

Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
Famous Failures in History
This leader of a nation started strong, a military hero, eventually became leader of the whole nation but then an embarrassing moral failure became public.
2 Samuel 11: David & Bathsheba – Uriah’s Death
Then David confessed to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.” Nathan replied, “Yes, but the Lord has forgiven you, and you won’t die for this sin. Nevertheless, because you have shown utter contempt for the Lord by doing this, your child will die.”
2 Samuel 12:13-14
Sin isn’t worth the cost.
Sin will cost you more than you want to pay. It will keep you longer than you want to stay. It will take you where you don’t want to go and that’s what happened to me.

For everything that is hidden will eventually be brought into the open, and every secret will be brought to light.Mark 4:22
It’s better to bring sin into the light yourself.
Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. James 5:16
What are the things that you feel you could never tell anyone? You’re only as sick as your secrets.
4Steps to Overcome Failure
Step 1: FIRST ______

Adam & Eve hid from God because of their guilt. (Genesis 3:10)
To enjoy your work and accept your lot in life—this is indeed a gift from God. God keeps such people so busy enjoying life that they take no time to brood over the past. Ecclesiastes 5:19-20
If you focus on the regrets of the past, you can’t enjoy the present.
Step 2: Repent to ______
All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see God at work in what He is doing.
John 3:20
When we bring our darkness into the light we become part of the light.
Step 3: Rehearse ______in Christ
Have you been a Loser?
The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again. Proverbs 25:16
We all fall sometimes but don’t stay there…get up.
If you listen to these commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today, and if you carefully obey them, the Lord will make you the head and not the tail, and you will always be on top and never at the bottom. Deuteronomy 28:13
God says do things my way and make you successful.
Have you been a Sinner?
He has removed our sins as far from usas the east is from the west. Psalm 103:12

If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Romans 8:31
For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
God has good plans for his people.
People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy. Proverbs 28:13
We all fail God when we sin, mercy comes when we ask to be forgiven.
OFFERING
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.Matthew 6:33
