FUND DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR

L'Arche Greater Vancouver is a charitable organization that provides homes and day programs for men and women with developmental disabilities. At the heart of L'Arche is the understanding that every person is valued and has unique gifts to contribute to society. Through participation in community, people with disabilities can share these gifts and grow to their full potential. L'Arche is about to embark on the most exciting time in our history as we plan for re-development and growth funded by a Capital Campaign. This position will assist with annual fundraising and the capital campaign

Position:

To coordinate Fund Development activities and provide support to the Director of Fund Development, the Community Leader/Executive Director and the Capital Campaign Cabinet, enabling L’Arche Greater Vancouver to meet its annual and capital campaign goals.

Major Responsibilities:

  1. In Relation to the Director of Fund Development
  1. Adhere to L’Arche Greater Vancouver’s donation and cash handling policies and procedures
  2. Support the Department’s annual timelines
  3. Manage and maintain donor database
  4. Support in the planning, execution and evaluation of donor appreciation and fundraising events
  5. Assist in creating messaging on L’Arche’s social media presence and developing or maintaining other marketing collateral
  6. Assist in drafting grant applications
  1. In Relation to the Capital Campaign Cabinet and Foundation Board
  1. Organize meetings, take minutes and distribute information as needed.
  2. Create and maintain records on assigned visits and donations
  3. Assist in circulating Campaign marketing collateral
  1. In Relation to Finance Department
  1. Provide clear and accurate financial recording of bank deposits, and fundraising activities, regularly reconcile fundraising records with Finance.
  1. In Relation to the General Office
  1. Provide support for the Office Manager as needed
  2. Other duties as required

Specific Tasks Include:

  1. To coordinate three direct mail campaigns annually.
  2. To coordinate meetings of and take minutes at Foundation and Capital Campaign meetings.
  3. To enter donations, produce donation receipts and thank you letters
  4. To produce mailing lists, mail merges and database reports as needed
  5. To manage/draft social media material and website content

Skills to be demonstrated:

  1. Knows, is committed to, and can articulate the vision and mission of L’Arche
  2. Excellent oral and written English
  3. Professional demeanor and trustworthy in maintaining confidentiality
  4. Proficient computer skills in MS Office including Publisher and database administration
  5. Comfortable meeting with the general public and working with volunteers
  6. Administrative skills including ability to organize and plan
  7. Basic fundraising and bookkeeping knowledge along with experience in donation data entry and reporting
  8. Experience in special event planning, execution and evaluation
  9. Managing/drafting social media material and website content
  10. Preparing bank deposits
  11. Producing mailing lists and reports from the donor database (IME)
  12. Taking minutes at meetings
  13. Ability to handle multiple tasks and administrative functions with competing deadlines.
  14. Knowledge of Income Manager Enterprise and Grant Connect an asset
  15. Ability to work both cooperatively and independently in a multi-faith and culturally diverse environment
  16. Flexible, open to change, comfortable in a culture of learning and growth
  17. Strong organizational and problem solving skills
  18. Ability to take direction and to take initiative
  19. Three years in office administration, preferably in a non-profit setting
  20. Experience with persons with developmental disabilities an asset
  21. Valid BC Drivers License
  22. Willing to learn new skills
