How to become a SKE provider

  1. Schools must download a Grant Offer Letter. This must be signed by the school’s Accounting Officer1 and then returned to .
  2. Once the letter has been signed and returned, this will form a Grant Funding Agreement with DfE. The school will then receive allocated places and can claim SKE funding to deliver the course, and for bursary payments to pass onto participants.
  1. SKE is available in maths, physics, languages, chemistry, biology, computing, design & technology, geography, biology and English. Courses last from 8 to 28 weeks and can be delivered face to face, online or a blended model. SKE language candidatescan take 2 SKE courses; one for their main language and one to develop another language.
  2. New SKE providers should complete an SKE course information form. The course will be advertised on the SKE Course Directory. This is so that potential ITT candidates and ITT providers can find details of SKE courses.
  3. To receive SKE funding schools must submit a claim form containing details of participants recruited to SKE courses. This can be done in advance of the SKE course start date, or up to 2 weeks after the SKE course has started.
  4. SKE funding will be paid on the first working day of the following month. Bursary payments start one month later and continue monthly for the time that the participant is on programme. Bursaries must be passed onto participants every month. Please read the SKE Funding manual to learn more about the funding process.
  5. The schools overleaf are either delivering SKE, or actively considering delivery, for the academic year 2017/18.
  6. For more information, please contact the SKE team at:
