CPFT Induction for Researchers

Welcome to the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT), below you will find information relating to our CPFT Induction and your requirements.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?

The specified categories and your compliance requirements are dependant upon what activities you are actually carrying out within our Trust, and this information will come directly from your application for a Letter of Access, Honorary Contract or your Research Passport Application Form for example. The categories range from A through to E. The attached table grid explains how we grade your category against the activities you have applied to undertake within our Trust.

HOW AND WHEN DO I COMPLETE MY INDUCTION MODULES?

Once your access to our Trust is granted, (or possibly prior to in preparation of access being granted,) you should fill out the attached data collection sheet, which cites the correct budget code and your role within this Trust. Although this form is mostly be filled in for you, a few personal details need completing. You will then need to obtain the signature of your nominated CPFT manager. You should then forward this form onto our Learning & Development team and they will then contact you directly with your CPFT Induction login details. Induction modules can be completed online, via our e-academy, from any PC that has an internet connection, once you have received your login details. If you want to query compliance, availability of courses or you wish to set up an E-cademy account please contact our Learning & Development Team: Learning&

Any technical issues or difficulties encountered when using the E-cademy should be addressed to the eLearning team at

We ask that your specified induction modules be completed either prior to receiving access to our Trust, or within 4 weeks of your start date. This will more than likely be the start date of your Letter of Access or Honorary Contract.

BREAKAWAY TRAINING

If you are required to do CPFT Breakaway training, please contact our Learning & Development Team: Learning&

This guidance information is not exhaustive and if you have any questions relating to your CPFT Induction you are welcome to contact our R&D Administrator.

NB: Please note if you are an NHS member of staff you may be able to transport your Breakaway training, if undertaken within the last year. You must provide the Learning & Development team with evidence, i.e. the certificate you hold. Mark it for the attention of Kath Gordon, Head of Learning and Development.
