Housekeeping Manager

Our service partners, Sodexo, are seeking a Housekeeping Manager to manage the delivery of housekeeping services at the School. With strong attention to detail and a passion for high service standards, you will ensure that we deliver an efficient and high quality cleaning operation.

This is a high profile school contract and will therefore provide the opportunity to showcase your leadership skills and develop within a growing business.

Main Responsibilities

  • Efficient management of housekeeping service, including cleaning communal areas, classrooms, offices, sport areas (changing/shower areas and gym) and function rooms plus laundry.
  • Effectively lead a housekeeping team to deliver an outstanding service to client, customers and students.
  • Liaise with the General Services Manager to review services and ensure we are maintaining high standard as per service level agreement, Company policy and current legislation.
  • Control and monitor the financial performance of the housekeeping department and maintain costs within pre-budgeted targets.
  • Set and manage cleaning rotas and holidays, ensuring the cleaning service runs efficiently
  • In conjunction with HR and the General Services Manager, monitor staff sickness and undertake necessary procedures to reduce absence levels.
  • Establish and maintain satisfactory relationships with individuals at all levels within the Company and the Client organisation.
  • Implement and maintain the Statutory and Company standards of hygiene, health and safety and take any action as is necessary.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience in a housekeeping/cleaning management role, ideally from a Schools, Hotels or equivalent background
  • Good cleaning procedural knowledge
  • Experience of leading a housekeeping team in a similar environment
  • Hands on approach
  • Good financial awareness
  • Good administrative skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of Food Hygiene and Health & Safety
