10:30pmArrival at HMS

Students are to eat a good breakfast before reporting to HMS on the morning of the trip. We will not have time to stop en route.

All band students will perform in their red HMS Band polo shirts andjeans/denim shorts. There are still shirts available for purchase. The price is $12(We also have a very limited number of gently used shirts available for $6).

There will be many band, orchestra, and chorus students in the park. It is MANDATORY that the students wear their band shirts for the duration of the trip for safety and identification purposes!

Pack rain gear and keep an eye on the weather report!

Each student will need a minimum of $40 for any food, drinks, snacks, or souvenirs that he/she would like to purchase while in the park. You may decide to give your child more than this amount. However, please remind your child that he/she is responsible for the safekeeping and wise spending of money!

Any medications that your child requires should be bagged and clearly labeled with your child’s name and instructions for administering. These medications will be given to your child’s assigned chaperone (I strongly recommend that parents themselves turn in medications on the morning of the trip, rather than giving them to the children).

Our trip chaperones are band parents who have graciously volunteered their time for this trip. Any student who is disrespectful or fails to follow instructions will be subject to severe consequences!

7th grade students are required to remain in groups of four or more students while inside the park. Students found roaming around the park either alone or with less than 3 students will be assigned to an adult for the remainder of the trip! 6th grade students will be escorted by a chaperone throughout the day.

Please be prompt when picking up your child from HMS Saturday night. It is recommended that students be supplied with cell phones in the event that our return is delayed. However, there will be phones available for students who do not have them. Cell phone use will ONLY be allowed for this and/or emergency purposes. Cell phones will not be allowed inside the high school. Casual use of cell phones inside the park is also prohibited!

Please remind your child that he/she is representing, not only HopewellMiddle School, but Fulton County Schools as well. Each student is required to adhere to all school and county policies. Students found breaking any of these or the aforementioned rules will immediately report to Ms. Murphy and will stay with her for the remainder of the trip. In addition, further action may be taken upon the student’sreturn to school Monday, May 4th. This may include, but is not limited to, an office referral.

All of the performances at DouglasCountyComprehensiveHigh School are free and opened to the public. Parents are invited to attend to show their support of the HMS Bands! All events in the park require payment of regular park admission. We are looking forward to an exciting, fun-filled day!
