Homework Sheet for the 1st Week of School
This week’s spelling words will be your child’s first, middle, and last name.
Tuesday-
1. Write your full name (first, middle, and last name) neatly.
2. Make a graph to show how many letters are in each part of your name.
Wednesday-
1. Write your full name neatly.
2. Trace the vowel letters in your name with an orange crayon. Vowels are the letters a, e, i, o, and u. All the other letters are consonants.
3. Trace the consonant letters with a green crayon. Be neat!
Thursday-
1. Write your full name (first, middle, and last name) neatly. Point out which is your last, first, and middle name for your parent(s).
2. Ask your parent to do a practice spelling test with you. Remind them to not to say your name but to say… “Spell your middle name.” Then you write it down.
3. Ask your parent to check and sign your practice test. Practice more if you need to.
Friday-
Spelling Test: You will be asked to spell your name and additional words you already know how to spell. You will be graded on spelling accuracy and legible handwriting.
