Ilana Hieger brought the refreshments and said the opening prayer. She left for an appointment right after that.

Catholic schools week was 2 weeks ago and was a huge success. Lots of planning went into it and it is greatly appreciated. The teacher luncheon was Italian and was delicious. 8th graders took over for a day during catholic schools week. Everyone enjoys it and the students who take on the administrative and teacher roles realize just how challenging it can be. Father liked the Spurs tickets that were given to him from the PTC. He also appreciated the other gifts he received on Pastor appreciation day.

Pastries with parents went very well. So well attended, that they ran out of pastries. Nice to see so many parents attending.

Student appreciation day went well. The kids thoroughly enjoyed it. It was so nice that Central Catholic and Antonian High School were apart of it. Some of the events were a bug guy, snake guy, magician, the students painted crosses, stretching and bingo. Fun was had by all. It takes months of planning and was all worth it.

Honor roll ribbons were brought to the school by Valerie Alva – Thank you!

Thank you to all the room parents and volunteers for the Valentines parties yesterday. They went well. Mrs Webb said only 3 class parties a year. No end of year party.

In the hall near the cafeteria, you will find the all saints day pictures up of the students. They are canvases on the wall from the past 4 years. Andrea Richards started taking each childs photo and putting it together on a canvass. It was intended for the gala auction and what is happening is that the parents who have purchased it have donated it back to the school so the kids can remember it. Mary Delaney says that parents always comment about them when they do school tours. They think it’s a great tradition.

Francine Pina said she heard on radio that box tops is giving additional tops from this Friday till Monday February 21. Lots of items at HEB that we can take advantage of this opportunity.

Mrs Webb said she has been meeting with student council on strategic plan and it is going well. Paddles up at the Gala will be for spirit park – to help rebuild it for the older kids. Want new swings and places for them to play. Has been for new technology for many years. Time to change it up. She is already planning for next year. Has identified areas that need to be worked on for next year and is already planning for that. She wants everyone to really consider what they will do for lent. She would like families to say the rosary together and just pray more together. She will let the religion teachers know that she thinks they should incorporate more prayer during lent. She suggests that if your children are able to sit still, to encourage them to do Adoration. You can also give more through good deeds.

Kelly Emmons said they are very excited about Gala which is February 25. It is the schools biggest fund raiser so please encourage everyone to go. Lots of different things this year. Different venue. Will offer complimentary valet. Silent auction will be outside and will be handled by a new company who has done auctions for local schools. They get the items, set them up, check people out and take down the items. They will also handle the live auction. No more bidding on cell phones. Will be paper items. What is great about this new company is that they are offering several incentives that come with many bids. Like the buy it now option. Every buy it now option, you get a trip and airfare (minimum) They will also have a raffle with the same great incentives. The times of the event will stay the same and the band is the same.

The door prize was given to Claudia Perez.
