Journey of Hope Program

Reports to: Director of Journey of Hope Program

Hours: FT Positions – Flexible

General Statement of Duties: The Shift Supervisorassists the Program Director in performing administrative and supervisory functions, which are necessary for the operation of theJourney of Hope shelter program. This position is open to all Spanish and English speaking employees of HFI. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Essential Functions:

  1. Promotes the Mission and Philosophy of Holy Family Institute
  2. Plans staff coverage, in advance, in order to prevent over staffing.
  3. Serves on the emergency on call rotation
  4. Assists with intake process
  5. Carries out administrative tasks as directed by Supervisor
  6. Provides on the spot direction and feedback to all staff in cottage.
  7. Handles initial staff disciplinary action
  8. Assists with staff orientation and training
  9. Provides director supervision of the assigned Youth Care Workers and also provides director with feedback about line staff’s performance.
  10. Conducts staff meetings in absence of Supervisor
  11. Assists residents with personal hygiene and other activities of daily living through modeling, coaching and structuring activities
  12. Models and assists in the implementation of the HART and Sanctuary model
  13. Setting consistent and reasonable tolerance levels for all staff to adhere to with the residents.
  14. Follows treatment plans where applicable.
  15. Communicates with on-call personnel or administrative staff when the Director is unavailable.
  16. Manages unanticipated events and crisis situations in a positive, constructive manner
  17. Maintains client confidentiality
  18. Maintains a pleasant, tidy, sanitary and safe living environment for residents
  19. Completes required documentation in keeping with agency standards

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in the human service field with 3-5 years of experience working with children or an Associate Degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university and 3 years working with children is required. Candidates must attach Bachelor or Associate degree documentation to the application. Must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid PA drivers license, be able to perform physical activities, have good verbal, written and oral communication skills. Act 33/34 and FBI clearances required.EOE
