Changing the Screen Drivers on a Saturn G to Suit a Datalux 27 cm Screen

Equipment Required:

  • Rinex Saturn G Interface Unit
  • Datalux 27 cm Touch Screen
  • Keyboard
  • USB Storage Device with Touch drivers loaded

Before You Begin:

This procedure only applies to the Datalux 5 – wire screen. If the Brightness and Contrast buttons on the front of the screen are raised (when you run your fingers over them), then your screen is a 5 – wire screen.

If the Brightness and Contrast buttons on the front of the screen are completely flush (when your run your fingers over them) then this is a 4 – wire screen and this procedure will not assist you. You should contact Rinex Technology for further assistance.

The Datalux 27cm touch screen, keyboard and the USB storage device (a Sandisk thumbdrive or Zio compact flashcard reader with compact flash card) must be connected to the Saturn G Interface Unit.

Instructions:

All instructions in Part 1, down to step 24 must be carried out using the keyboard. The touch screen cannot be used until step 25.

Instructions in Part 2 only need to be completed if the Touch or T5 Driver folder cannot be found it Part 1, step 8. All instructions in Part 2 must be carried out using the keyboard.

PART 1
Put the compact flash card into the Zio compact flash card reader. The card should have its main label facing up and towards you so that you can read it right side up. Gently make sure the card is completely inserted.
Insert the Keyboard and the Zio compact flashcard reader into the Saturn G control unit.
Switch the system on and wait until it has finished starting up.
Hold the Windows key down on the keyboard (next to the Alt key on the bottom row) and press E. Windows Explorer will be displayed.

/ Use the Tab key to move to the right-hand side of the screen.
Use the down arrow to select Saturn C:/.
Press Enter. /

/ Use the down arrow to find and select the Touch or T5 Driver folder.
If the Touch or T5 Driver folder is not there, go to Part 2.
Press Enter.
Use the down arrow to select T5Setup.exe. /
Press Enter. Setup will now run. Follow the on-screen prompts, and press Enter to go to the next screen. /

/ When this screen appears, use the down arrow to select Datalux Serial Driver.
Press Enter to go to the next screen. /

/ When this screen appears use the up and down arrows to move between the "Touch Screen Control Program" and "Left/Right mouse button toggle" options. Use the space bar to deselect (untick) both options – make sure these two options are NOT selected.
Press Enter to move to the next screen. /
A message "Ready to Install" will be displayed. Press Enter to move to the next screen.

/ A progress display screen will come up, while the driver is installed. When this has completed, the "Hardware Information" screen will be displayed.
Press Enter.
Another message will be displayed asking you to set up the hardware configuration. Press Enter. /

/ When the Hardware Controls screen appears, use the down arrow to move down to Com2 and select it.
Press Enter. /
More messages and screens will appear concerning the completion of the setup process. Press Enter when each message appears to complete the process.
The system will shutdown and restart by itself.


/ When the system has finished restarting, hold the Windows key down on the keyboard (next to the Alt key on the bottom row). The Start Menu will be displayed.
Use the up and down arrows to move to Programs.
Press Enter. /
Use the up and down arrows to move to Touch.
Press Enter.
Touchscreen Control should now appear, highlighted in blue.
Press Enter.
Hold the Alt key down and press C.
Follow the instructions on the screen to calibrate it.

/ When calibration is complete, this screen will reappear.
Touch the Exit button to close the program.
The touch screen is now ready to use (by touching the screen). /
PART 2




/ Use the Tab key to move to the left-hand side of the screen.
Use the up and down arrows to select Removable Disk D:.
Press Enter.
Use the Tab key to move to the right-hand side of the screen.
Use the down arrow to find and select the Touch or T5 folder.
Hold down the Control key and press C.
Use the Tab key to move to the left-hand side of the screen. /
Use the up and down arrows to select Saturn C:\.
Press Enter.
Hold down the Control key and press V.
Now return to Part 1, Step 8.
