Highbury College Taster Day
Monday 6 July 2015
Your son/daughter has expressed an interest in attending a Taster Day, at Highbury College, in Cosham or their Portsmouth City Centre site.
The day has been arranged for Monday 6th July 2015. Students are encouraged to make their own way to the campus in good time for the 9:45am start. Those students who do not make their own way to the college will be leaving school at 9:15am and all students will be returning to school at 2:30pm and attending their period 5 lesson.
This taster day will offer students the opportunity to experience college life and investigate the post 16 courses available to them after year 11.

Students who have chosen sport will need PE kit, those in other practical subjects should dress appropriately and may need to wear stout shoes, particularly if they will be working in a workshop environment. As they will be away from school most of the day they will need to bring a packed lunch or money to buy lunch from the cafeteria.
We would ask for a contribution of £2.00 towards the cost of this activity. No student will be omitted from the activity if his/her parents are unable to contribute. However, I must make it equally clear that in accordance with the Governors’ statement this activity may not take place if parents are reluctant to support it with their contributions full or in part.
We would advise that students do not to take valuables out on school activities, however, should they be taken parents should ensure personal possessions are adequately insured.
It is the parent’s/guardian’s responsibility to update the school should there be any changes to the medical information about their child. Please communicate these to Mrs Brettell, Business Support Manager.
Please complete and return the consent form and monies (cheques made payable to Oaklands Catholic School) to the Finance Office by Thursday 2 July 2015. Alternatively you can pay online.
