GERUNDS / INFINITIVE
1. GERUNDS AS SUBJECTS: when a verb is the subject of the sentence. Examples:
-Smoking is bad for our health.
-Swimming is good for our body. / 1. AS A SUBJECT:
-To be or not to be seems to be the existential question.
-To say and to do things are two different things.
2. PREPOSITION + GERUND: If a verb comes after a preposition.
-I´m worried about to having to sell my house
-She´s afraid of going out at night. / 2. AS AN OBJECT:
-I need to find a new job.
-She plans to travel abroad this year.
-I try to be polite.
3. PAST GERUNDS: having + past participle. (formal)
