HelloMilford International Little League Families,

My name is Angelo Simonelli and I amthe currentpresident of MILL.I am excited to announce thatthe 2012 spring tee ball, baseball and softball registrations are in full swing.Registration information and forms are now posted on our website at

Before I get into what’s happening with MILL for 2012, I would like to say THANK YOU to Bob Fortier for his great work as president and also his wife Colleen for all the hard work they have put in to our league over the past few years.

For 2012 we will only be accepting registration by attending one of the in person dates below. To assure we are prepared for the season, we are setting February 18, 2012 as the cut-off date for registrations. Our 1st walk-in registration is planned for January 12th at Steve Hine Sports Academy located on 217 Pepe’s Farm Rd. Milford, CT (across from Post Office, 203-298-0516).

All in person registration will be held at Steve Hine Sports Academy on the following dates:

Thursday, January 19th6:30 pm to 8:00 pm

Thursday, January 26th6:30 pm to 8:00 pm

Thursday, February 2nd6:30 pm to 8:00 pm

For your convenience, we’ve also included a separate “refrigerator page” which outlinesall walk-in registration dates, player evaluations dates, and contact information for MILL Board of Directors (BOD).Please feel free to contact your league player agent with any questions regarding the upcoming season.

Let me also update you in areas where the BOD has been working on to make this upcoming season successful, in consideration of the financial challenge MILL and its league families are facing in this continuedeconomic downturn. First, Dick's Sporting Goods will be hosting a MILL family shopping day. (To be announced). On this day, all MILL families are invited to shop at Dick’s and receive 15% off their total purchase, on top of other Dick’s discounts and coupons – for a potential savings of between 25% – 35%!

Our annual Opening DayCelebration is scheduled for the first weekend in May Saturday the 5th this will be weather permitting. We will be starting games prior to opening day celebration games will be starting the week of April 15th, more to come on this. Our opening day in May will still be a celebration same as last year with games, entertainment, food, raffles, merchandise for sale and more. When heading down to Brewster Field on Opening Day, whether or not you have a game, expect to experience a fun day to be had by the entire family -- andby doing so you will be supportingMILL.

MILL has made a strong commitment to keep registration fees at or below 2011 levels. As such, 2012 fees are unchanged. We are encouraging league-age four, five and six year old boys and girls in the MILL district to learn, play and enjoy America’s favorite pastime, alongside some of the best families and volunteers in Milford. Tee ball registration has been on the decline in recent years – let’s turn that around this year.Spread the word!

In an effort to help keep registration fees down, we’ll once againhold a fundraiser. The fundraiser will be a raffle with the Grand Prize being a $3000 gift card.Every league family will be required tosell at least one booklet of 10 tickets at $5 per ticket. You will notice that in an effort to get 100% participation this has been added to this seasons registration form. Please include the $50 with the registration check and upon receipt a book of raffle tickets will be mailed back to you. The drawing will be held on opening day giving you the opportunity to sell your tickets and recuperate your money.

League sponsors from our community also play a huge role in supporting MILL and keeping registration fees down. While we have had outstanding support in past years, there is a concern support may drop againthis year, in relation to the economy. If you, a company you areemployed at, or someone you know, may be interested in being a league or teamsponsor, please let me know and I will gladly send outa sponsorpackage listing all the details, the different types of sponsorships available, the benefits it provides to MILL and the sponsoring company.

As with any volunteer-based program, MILL needs volunteers for various activities throughout the year, including but not limited to: team managers, snack stand operations, opening day committee, fundraising committee, sponsorship coordinator, etc. If you are interested in helping out in any one of these areas please contact me directly. Any help is greatly appreciated!

If you have any otherquestions my contact information along with allthe board members can be found on our website look forward to an exciting season and seeing you all at our Opening Day Celebration.

Happy NEW YEAR!!!

Sincerely,

Angelo Simonelli, MILL President - 2012 Season
