For the 36th consecutive year, Webb Tours is offering our popular Fall Foliage Spectacular. As you read this brochure take note of the mixture of activities and destinations. We have combined fascinating cities, quaint coastal villages, spectacular natural beauty with stylish accommodations and incredible dining experiences - 20 meals (most in spectacular dining settings).
And then there's the history. Eastern Canada is one of the world's most intriguing destinations. Not just for its beauty, but for its past. The conflict between the English and the French began in the seventeenth century and continues to the present. That conflict has had a profound impact on our country. We'll explore the fascinating history and cultures as we travel from English Canada to French Canada and back to English Canada. If you've been looking for a perfect, comprehensive fall vacation, you've found it! This tour includes two nights in Quebec and two nights in New Hampshire’s White Mountains, and one night in the other places we visit. It is one of our most popular tours every year and we GUARANTEE a great experience.
DAILY ITINERARY
Day 1: Salt Lake City to Niagara Falls. This morning, with great anticipation, we board our plane for Buffalo, NY. Our air-conditioned, restroom equipped bus will be waiting to take us to our motel in nearby Niagara Falls, Canada. After we freshen up, you will be treated to dinner high atop the spectacular SkylonTower, overlooking the falls. This will be the first of several UNIQUE and delicious dining experiences. We'll stay at the beautiful Radisson Fallsview hotel. D
Day 2: Niagara Falls to Kingston, Ontario. This morning we'll see what we missed last night around the falls. You'll have time to ride the Maid of the Mist, walk behind the falls, or just do your own thing. At about 11:30, we'll head for our lunch appointment in Toronto high atop the Canadian National Tower in their revolving dining room. This is the tallest free-standing structure in the world (with a lunch to match) and a great way to see the city. This is a splurge, but trust me…it is worth it! As we leave Toronto we will drive along the north shore of Lake Ontario to Kingston where we will spend the night. On the way, we'll stop at the Big Apple Store and enjoy some fresh apple pie. L
Day 3: Kingston to Ottawa. We're in for a treat this morning as we board a comfortable, enclosed boat for a scenic cruise through the Thousand Islands. This is where the St. Lawrence River meets the Great Lakes, creating a scenic playground for rich and famous. We'll cruise by the lovely BoltCastle (on HeartIsland) and share one of history's greatest loves stories. The scenery and setting in the fall are breathtaking. From there, it's a short drive into Ottawa, Canada's charming capitol city. We'll arrive in time for lunch in the interesting Byward Market area. After lunch, our local guide will meet us and show us some of the sights of the city. You'll love the parkways along the RideauxCanal, the grounds of the Governor General's residence and, of course, the Parliament Buildings, Ottawa's signature structures, where we'll learn about Canada's interesting system of government. Dinner will be a treat tonight at Tucker’s Markegplace, a delicious buffet within walking distance of our hotel. Come hungry, the food is delicious. Our hotel tonight will be the lovely Marriot in the unique Byward Market. B, D
Day 4: Ottawa to Montreal to Quebec This morning you'll have some time to browse in the Market Square area before we head out for Montreal. We'll be there by noon (it's a two hour drive). Montrealis Canada's largest city and is home to interesting history and some spectacular views. We’ll go directly to the very interesting St. Joseph’s Oratory, perched atop MountReal. The church and the setting are stunning (including one of the largest collections of nativity scenes in the world). On the way into town, we’ll enjoy the view from Mount Royal where you can see the entire city and the St. Lawrence Seaway. Lunch is on your own in the famous Underground Montreal, an incredible city under the city. In the afternoon, we'll enjoy a scenic drive toward Quebec. It is late September/early October and today we should begin to see the fall colors as we travel further north into Quebec. After checking into the Clarion Hotel, we'll take you into the walled city where you can get dinner this evening. Few cities, if any, enjoy more charm and ambiance than Old Quebec City. It is simply one of the world's greatest cities because of its majestic setting (a walled city on the St. Lawrence), fascinating culture, and critical history. The fall colors provide a spectacular backdrop as we enjoy the scenes. We'll be here two nights. Quebec is truly one of the world's unique and "must see" destinations.
Day 5: Quebec City. Today we will enjoy a guided tour of Quebec including the Plains of Abraham, the WalledCity (including a short walking tour of the old town), Place Royal, the colorful Farmer’s Market and more. In addition, we'll see the lovely Isle of Orleans which is spectacular in the fall (unbelievable charm). We'll enjoy a memorable lunch at Le Chateau Frontenac, Canada's most famous building, as it overlooks this impressive city on the St. Lawrence River After lunch, you'll have a couple of hours to look in the unique shops, walk along the river or explore the walled city. Later, we'll travel 10 minutes along the St. Lawrence River to see Montmorency Falls followed by a visit to Chez Marie's for a slice of hot bread and honey in a delightful fall setting. We'll have some free time this evening to relax. I guarantee that you will love Quebec City. We'll stay in the Clarion Hotel again tonight. L
Day 6: Quebec City to Moncton. We'll spend the day in the province of New Brunswick. The countryside is similar with spectacular fall colors, but by mid day, the people change from French back to English. We'll pass through quaint towns of Riviere du Loup, Notre Dame du Lac and into Grand Falls where we'll have lunch. New Brunswick is miles and miles of hills, covered in colorful maple trees. You have to see it! In nearby Hartland, we'll see the world's longest covered bridge. The afternoon drive will take us via Fredericton into Moncton, New Brunswick. As the Revolutionary War continued in the states, many English Loyalists fled north and settled in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. This area was their hub. B
Day 7: Moncton to Prince Edward Island. Today it's off to Prince Edward Island. A recently completed bridge makes it easy to get onto the island (we're 90 minutes away). Prince Edward Island was made famous by Ann of Green Gables and you'll instantly fall in love with the lush green countryside by the sea, very similar to ScotlandEngland. Endless potato fields, red-sand coastline and quaint villages dot the rolling landscape. We'll be joined by a local guide who will show us the island this afternoon. Part of the tour includes a visit to the home made famous by Lucy Maude Montgomery's novels about life at Green Gables. Tonight we’ll enjoy LOBSTER at Fisherman's Wharf in Rustico on the bay. The ocean side setting is delightful. If you don’t like lobster, other items are available. We'll sleep in Charlottetown on the island tonight. B, D
Day 8: Charlottetown to Halifax: This morning we'll drive to the southern end of the island (with more incredible scenery) and take a ferry ride into Nova Scotiawhich means "New Scotland". It's a ninety minute drive into Halifax. After lunch, we will enjoy a guided tour of Halifax and the surrounding area by a delightful Scottish guide. The PublicGardens, the Harbor, The Citadel and Titanic graves will be the highlights of the tour. At the end of the tour, spend an hour at the Maritime museum, shopping or resting at the hotel. This evening we drive a short distance to one of the most beautiful spots on earth: Peggy's Cove. The lighthouse still stands in the midst of the huge granite boulders that line the rugged shore. We'll enjoy dinner at the Sou'Wester Restaurant overlooking the ocean, the lighthouse and, hopefully, a spectacular sunset. B, D
Day 9: Halifax to Bar Harbor. Today we will follow the Evangeline Trail to the nearby Grand PreNationalHistoricPark. This was the home of Evangeline and her people before they were harshly deported by the British. The story, the new visitor’s center and the chapel are very touching and enjoy a lovely setting. Their story is very interesting, and a MUST SEE in this part of Canada. Just down the road, we have a fun surprise (you’ll have to go to find out). We'll have a fish and chips lunch in Digby by the Bay before taking a three hour ferry across the Bay of Fundy to St. Johns, New Brunswick. L
Day 10: St. Johns to Bar Harbor. Today we’ll show you the beautiful natural fall scenes around this quaint city on the St. Johns River overlooking the Bay of Fundy. If nature permits, we’ll see the Reversing Falls. After lunch in the quaint Old City Market, we’ll enjoy a scenic drive along the bay toward beautiful Bar Harbor, Maine. We’ll stay in Ellsworth, Maine. B
Day 11: Maine to New Hampshire. We are just 30 minutes from impressive Acadia National Park. Nowhere else along the AtlanticSeaCoast is the "stern and rockbound coast" so rugged and beautiful. We'll make some interesting stops in the park (blowhole, Sandy Beach, Jordan’s Pond and others). Before leaving the park, we will drive to the top of CadillacMountain which, at 3,000 feet, provides a spectacular view in all directions. We'll have a time for browsing and lunch on charming Main Street in Bar Harbor before we head west toward New Hampshire. It is a beautiful fall colors drive as we make our way across Maine along scenic route 2 into Gorham, New Hampshire. We'll arrive about 5:30 and check into The Town and Country Inn. The inn sits at the foot of tree-covered mountains with color as far as the eye can see. This evening will be treated to a New England style dinner at the inn. There's no better way to experience New England in the Fall! B, D
Day 12: New Hampshire. Welcome to the heart of New England! Sleep in today. There is much to see in New Hampshire. Our touring will include some INCREDIBLE loops that, in my opinion, are the best Fall drives in New England. We'll follow the AndroscogginRiver to theDixville Notch visiting the beautiful Balsams Resort where we'll enjoy a lunch at the clubhouse overlooking an incredible fall scene. If nature cooperates, it is perhaps the most spectacular fall scene you’ll ever see. We'll continue along the Vermont border through the Franconia Notch and back to our hotel. We'll be back at the hotel by 4:00. Enjoy some fun shopping in the town of Gorham, relax or walk in the foliage.You’ll have some free time tonight. B, L, D
Day 13: New Hampshire to Boston. This morning we will enjoy another spectacular fall foliage drive (although yesterday’s scenery is tough to beat). This morning we'll drive along the Kancamangus Highway which is a 45 minute stretch of incredible fall vistas. We'll make several picture stops along the way including a perfect covered bridge, rocky scenic gorge and a wonderful 20 minute stroll through the foliage to scenicSabbaday Falls. We'll have a picnic lunch while we're there. After exiting the highway, we'll drive down the interstate to Boston. We'll see Lexington and Concord this afternoon. B, L
Day 14: Boston to Salt Lake. Today we continue to visit key American history sights on the Freedom Trail including the OldNorthChurch, the Paul Revere Home, Bunker Hill and more. We have an excellent local guide who brings history to life. We'll enjoy lunch and browsing at the famous Quincy Market. Then, it is on to the airport for our flight home. B
NOTE: This tour is now one day longer than prior years due to cancelled ferry routes between Nova Scotia and Maine (which allows us to see some additional places)
Registration Information:
To make a reservation, simply fill out the attached reservation form and send it to us with a deposit of $300 per person. When we receive your deposit, we will mail you a receipt confirming that you are registered for the tour. A letter with instructions, hotel itinerary flight information (if applicable) and luggage tags will be sent 45-60 days prior to departure at which time the balance will be due. You do not need to pay the balance until after you receive that packet. We require final payments in the form of a check. If that is not possible, arrangements can be made to use a credit card. Webb Tours accepts Visa, Mastercard and Discover for tour deposits.
Cancellation Penalties
We understand that you may need to cancel your trip for whatever reason. If it is 60 days or more before departure, all money will be refunded. If it is within 60 days, we will charge you only what Webb Tours cannot recover. In some cases, we can recover all of it. In others, we cannot. Cruise lines, airlines, hotels and other service providers require funds in advance and have their own rules about what will be refunded once paid. We must follow their guidelines. For airlines, specifically, tickets are generally non refundable when purchased. However, most airlines will allow the value of the canceled tickets to be reused for future travel, though a penalty may be assessed to reuse the tickets. If you have to cancel, Webb Tours will work with other providers to obtain as much refund as possible for our travelers. Our travelers know us to be very fair in this regard.
Cancellation Insurance:
Cancellation insurance is also available should you be interested. The insurance provider that we us is a company called Travelex. You can learn about them at With this insurance, most of your money will be returned to you in case you have to cancel for covered reasons (illness or death of an immediate family member) at the last minute. The price for the insurance varies based on the price of the trip and the age of the participant (at the time the insurance is purchased). Prices are as follows:
If you are interested in the insurance, it is best to purchase it when your deposit is made as all preexisting conditions are waived. However, insurance may be purchased any time up to the point you make your final payment. Insurance cannot be purchased after your final payment is made. Webb Tours is not the insurer and aces as agent for Travelex. To activate your insurance, we need your premium and your birth date. Insurance also includes $50,000 in medical benefits, $1,000 for lost baggage, $250 for baggage delay and $50,000 for Common Carrier AD&D.
