SMS Choir Caroling/ Six Flags trip

When: Friday, Dec. 18 from 1:30pm to 10:00pm.

We will leave SMS at 1:45pm from the front of the school. We will go caroling at a retirement community and then head to N.E. Mall for a quick bite to eat. (Six Flags doesn’t open until 5pm.) We should arrive at Six Flags around 4:30pm and will be return to SMS at 10:00pm.

Who:Only 7th and 8th grade Smithfield Middle School choir students with satisfactory conduct, passing grades and not on the zero list may attend the trip.

Tickets: Tickets can be bought from Mrs. Crawford or Mrs. Pilgrim for $25.00 until Tuesday, Dec. 8th. Season passes are accepted.

OPTIONAL: This field trip is NOT a required activity. It is a fun event for the choir students. Students do not have to ride the bus back as long as their parent is in attendance at Six Flags.

What to Wear: The students are to wear Choir t-shirt and jeans.

How to behave: Students need to remember that they are representing Smithfield Middle School and BISD. They are to follow BISD bus rules and field trip rules. If the rules are not followed, parents will be responsible for transportation from the park if they are asked to leave/thrown out of the park.

Ticket orders and money ($25.00) must be turned into Mrs. Crawford or Mrs. Pilgrim by Tuesday, Dec. 8th. The order has to be in by this date in order to get the $25.00 value tickets.

We are in need of many chaperones. Chaperones get in free.  Please contact us if you are available to chaperone on this field trip. All chaperones must be an approved BISD volunteer.

Dear Parent/ Guardian,

It’s that time, the holiday season is here! To spread the holiday cheer we are going to sing at a local retirement home and go eat at N. E. Mall on Friday, December 18, 2015. As a reward to the students for their hard work we will finish our day at Six Flags. The students will be in groups of 4-6 and each group will be accompanied by a parent chaperone.

As with all field trips, we are in need of chaperones. Chaperones must be on the approved BISD volunteer list. If you are not on the list and would like to chaperone, please log onto the BISD website and fill out the application. (It can take over a week to gain approval so please do not wait.) Here is the link for volunteering in BISD:

Your child will need to bring money for food/drink at the mall/Six Flags. If you wish to give your child extra spending money, please feel free to do so. The students will have time to shop, eat, play….

Permission slips and ticket money are due Tuesday, December 8, 2015. If your child does not have his/her permission slip, they will be unable to go on the trip. As with all other school trips, the academic eligibility requirements do apply to go on this trip. This includes a passing grade of 70 or above in all classes, a good behavior report in all classes and cannot have any missing assignments (zeros) in any class.

Dress for the trip is the current year choir t-shirt and blue jeans.

Thank you and Happy Holidays!!!

Sincerely,

Jennie Crawford and Debbie Pilgrim
