Team Leader

Due to the expansion of our “At Home” service we are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Team Leader with demonstrable experience of leading and supervising staff working in the community. This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the leading charities working with and for older people.

The key responsibilities of this post are supervising a team of support workers providing practical support to older people in their own homes, coordinating the delivery of the “At Home” service and ensuring excellent customer service.

This role is varied, you will also be involved and will assist Independent Living Coordinator Managers with service delivery across the Organisation as required.

The successful candidate must be committed to delivering high quality services, have a “can do attitude,” sound business sense and enjoy developing and expanding service provision. You will have ideally worked in a health and social care setting and are looking for a new challenge. You will be a highly organised person and have the ability to inspire others.

Information and Advice Officer

Age UK Sheffield is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated Information and Advice Officer to be the first point of contact for older people in Sheffield. Your role will be to ensure all callers reach the most appropriate service, resource or facility to meet their needs. This will include for some callers, providing high quality information and advice. This is an exciting new role and an opportunity to work for one of the leading charities working with and for older people.

This is a busy and varied role, the key responsibilities of this post are triaging telephone enquiries from older people and family members, providing information and advice to callers where appropriate, and processing and triaging referrals from health and social care professionals.

The successful candidate will understand the information and advice needs of older people, deliver outstanding customer service and have highly developed telephone skills. You will ideally have worked in a health and social care setting, enjoy problem solving, have a high level of computer literacy and be keen to keep up to date on the services available to older people. The post is full time (Monday to Friday).

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a team that will make a real difference to the lives of older people in Sheffield.

If you have drive, enthusiasm, a solution focused approach, can provide excellent customer service and have the ability to raise expectations about what is possible in later life this position is for you.You will be a confident people person, highly organised and comfortable networking with GPs and health professionals, taking responsibility, listening, practical problem-solvingand team working. You will relish working in a constantly evolving environment. You will have the ability to inspire and engage older people. You will be a brilliant listener and quick to understand the wants and desires of others. Specific duties include assessments and support planning, completing benefit applications, facilitating access to services, resources and facilities and supervising volunteers and students.

You will have experience in working in a customer facing role, be happy working independently and as part of a team and have the ability to travel across Sheffield.
