General PTO Minutes

Attended: Leah Atzert, Kate Deters, Jamie Fuller, Dawn Maijala, Becky Huey, Lauren Williams, Michelle Mohart, Krista Bess, Amanda Jerauld, Dee Dee Veal, Charlotte Brittingham, Selma Dizdarevic, Jessica Carter, Sarah Porta, and Ashley Tay Madigan

Meeting called to order at 6:00p by Kate Deters

BUSINESS

  1. Introduction of Officers:

a)  Kate Deters, Leah Atzert, JoAnna Taylor, and Jamie Fuller

b)  Welcome to new members

c)  Introduce yourself as well as who attends WE

  1. Finances

a)  Finances remain the same.

b)  Possible Treasure Position available if anyone is interested.

  1. Kindergarten Clothing Drive

a)  Kindergarten teacher, Jessica Carter spoke about the clothing drive that is offered to the local community of Windsor Elementary and Brendan’s Backpack.

b)  The Clothing Drive is offered in the Spring/Fall.

c)  At Christmas Time they accept hats and gloves.

d)  The Fall Drive will be in October with help needed on 10/02 for set up and sort.

e)  Shopping Days are 10/03 and 10/04 and volunteers are needed.

  1. BookFair

a)  Leah did another great job with Bookfair that was held during Grandparents week and was a great success.

b)  $10,668 with 55% going back to the school.

c)  Another bookfair will be held in spring and volunteers will be needed.

  1. Trivia

a)  Trivia Night will be on Saturday, November 4th at 6:30 with doors opening at 6 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church

b)  This will be the 3rd annual and approximately $6,000 was raised last year. Earnings were used towards technology in the classrooms

c)  This year earnings will be used towards S.T.E.A.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) kits in the classrooms.

d)  It was voted and approved to have theme be Ultimate 80’s

e)  Accepting donations, baskets, and round sponsors.

f)  Will do buy a teacher with 50% going to teacher drawn and 50% going to who bought the teacher.

g)  Looking to get donations from Blues, Cardinals, Zoo, Magic House

h)  Kate will e-mail out the donation letter.

i)  Each grade level will donate a basket.

j)  Kindergarten teachers to work trivia night.

k)  Any and all help is welcome from planning to working the night of the event.

  1. Mothly/Quarterly Teacher Appreciation

a)  Looking to add in doing a Monthly or Quarterly Teacher appreciation in addition to the spring week celebration.

b)  Suggestions of Donuts/Coffee Cart or Chapstick holders

c)  Looking to put a committee together and start the week or Parent Teacher Conferences, October 23rd.

d)  Jamie Fuller to continue to do teacher/staff birthday treats.

  1. Popcorn/Pretzel Friday

a)  Once a month there is a Popcorn or Pretzel Friday with proceeds going to the designated grade that month

b)  Alternates each month with the first being on September 29th for Kindergarten

c)  Letters sent home for volunteers to the designated grades parents.

  1. Cardinals Calendars

a)  Forms to be in the week of October 9th, due back on November 10th, and calendars to arrive December 1st.

b)  $15 with $7 profit

c)  Would like to due an incentive for the kids that sell the most since due to not having a fundraiser.

  1. Other Business

a)  Jamie Fuller suggested having $1 Hat Day or PJ day for additional fundraising needs.
