LOCATION: 2005 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Indianapolis, IN 46202

HISTORY:The 300,000 square foot Indianapolis facility, which employs more than 450 people, was formerly the headquarters of Peerless Pump Company, which Grundfos acquired in 2007. Peerless itself was founded in 1923 in Montebello, Calif., to manufacture irrigation pumps and horizontal end-suction water pumps. The company was acquired by Food Machinery Corporation (FMC) in 1932 and by Thyssen-Bornemisza Group (TBG) in 1976. Peerless purchased Power-D, a replicator of one of the world’s leading process pumps, in 1989 and the LaBour Pump Company, a producer of chemical process pumps, in 1994. That same year, Peerless moved its headquarters in Indianapolis. The company also expanded globally by opening an office in Singapore in 2001, a European office in Geneva, Switzerland in 2002, and another in Torino, Italy in 2004.

ACTIVITY: The acquisition of Peerless Pump Company made Grundfos the global leader in Fire Protection pumps and technology and expanded its portfolio into industrial, water supply, irrigation and commercial buildings applications.
