WHY DO I HAVE TO ATTEND

The following was accepted by all provinces at a JSA Council meeting held in November 2012:

Trials 2014 (All groups)

For attending the trails for 2014 international events you need to have attended 50% of JSA events. That means that you may attend 2 NRE’s or 1 NRE and the SA Open Championship. The criteria to be invited to our trials from 2014 will be

-Your name on the ranking list of JSA and

-Should attend 50% of events.

Trials 2015 (All groups)

For attending the trails for the 2015 international events you need to have attended 50% of JSA events as well as the JSA training camp. That means that you should attend 2 NRE’s and the training camp or 1 NRE and the SA Open Championship and the training camp. The criteria to be invited to trials will be

-Your name on the ranking list of JSA and 1, 2, 3

-Attend 50% of event

-Attendance of JSA training camp

This does not mean that this training camp will count for 2015, but get into the habit that at the beginning of January of each year, there will be a Training camp.

Furthermore, the HP Director, Selection committee and selected coaches need to see your judo abilities, fitness levels etc, if we need to select a player/players for international training camps and/or championships. This is also the place where the various coaches can learn more about you, so that there will be no excuse for players blaming coaches for not knowing their Judo style. Most important, it is important to attend these type of camps for preparation for the National trials coming up in February 2014. We as HP coaches would also like to see which of our younger players has talent that we can make sure that they stay in the system.

Managers and coaches also need to attend, as you can be penalised for being part of the HP coaches and managers group.
