Greetings from Lincoln College Preparatory Academy!

LCPA is opening its admissions process for the 2015-2016 school year! We are accepting applications from students and families this year beginning, Monday, November 24, 2014 for the 2015-2016 school year. It is a very good idea to apply early so that you can know if your child will be accepted and avoid having to be placed on a waiting list.

Applications may be obtained from the front office at Lincoln or via the Lincoln website at: www.kcpublicschools.org/lincoln . Completed application packets may be turned in to Lincoln College Preparatory Academy, 2111 Woodland, between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.

For an application to be accepted and reviewed for possible acceptance, parents/guardians must provide all of the following information at one time to the front office of Lincoln. If something is missing, the front office will let you know what is missing and will hand back the incomplete packet to the parent/guardian. The items needed to have a completed application packet are:

·  Qualifying Test Scores (60% or higher in both ELA and Math on a standardized test) (***Required of all applicants)

·  Completed Application (***Required of all applicants)

·  2 Proofs of Residence (Previous months utility bill and mortgage or lease agreement) (***Required of all applicants)

Decisions for admittance to Lincoln are done after a review of the completed packet with special attention given to qualifying scores, behavior, attendance, and grades. Should you have any questions regarding the application process, please feel free to contact the main office.

Lincoln will again be offering shadowing opportunities for students. To register for a shadowing opportunity, please contact the front office at 816-418-3000.

For those students that do not currently have qualifying scores, LCPA will be providing an opportunity for students to take an exam here at Lincoln. The testing will take place on a Saturday morning. Registration is limited to the first 40 students per test day. The testing dates are December 13, and January 24. Students may only sign-up to take the test once. Registration closes the Thursday of the week before testing to ensure we have all accurate information for the testing (Therefore, the registration closing dates are December 4th and January 15th). If you are a current KCPS student in grades 5 through 8, you do not need to register for the testing as LCPA will be using the NWEA test, which is the same test that all KCPS student take at the beginning of the year, in January and then again in March/April. To register for the testing sessions, please contact the main office at 816-418-3000.

If you have any questions or to find out more information about the application process, shadowing or the testing days and registration, please contact the main office at 816-418-3000.
