GREATER KROTZ SPRINGS PORT COMMISSION

REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING

MAY 01, 2017

The Regular Monthly Meeting of the Greater Krotz Springs Port Commission was held on Monday, May 01, 2017, at 5:00 p.m. at the office of the Greater Krotz Springs Port Commission in Krotz Springs, Louisiana. The following Commissioners were present, which constituted a quorum:

COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Batiste, Carter, Cornelius, DiCapo, Haynes, Reed, Soileau, Thibodeaux, Thompson, and Vidrine.

COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None

OTHERS PRESENT: E. Lynn Lejeune, Cindy Stelly, Jacque Pucheu, Jr., Jody Soileau and Charles Tuttle with Slemco, Alvin Haynes, and Pat Fontenot.

Commissioner Michael Thibodeaux called the meeting to order. Commissioner James Soileau led the Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited by everyone.

APPROVE MINUTES OF APRIL 03, 2017:

MOTION: REED SECOND: SOILEAU

A motion was made by Monita Reed and seconded by James Soileau to approve and accept the APRIL 03, 2017 Regular Meeting Minutes as written. All Commissioners present agreed unanimously.

INDUSTRIAL INDUCEMENT COMMITTEE REPORT:

MOTION: SOILEAU SECOND: BATISTE

A motion was made by James Soileau and seconded by Senic Batiste to approve and accept the APRIL 10, 2017 Industrial Inducement Committee Meeting minutes as written. All Commissioners present agreed unanimously

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE REPORT:

MOTION: REED SECOND: BATISTE

A motion was made by Monita Reed and seconded by Senic Batiste to approve and accept the APRIL 17, 2017 Executive Committee Meeting minutes as written. All Commissioners present agreed unanimously.

OTHER BUSINESS:

RETREAT:

The retreat with the Port’s new Commissioner will be held on Wednesday, May 31st at 5pm.

BUSINESS AFTER HOURS:

Business After Hours is tentatively set for Thursday, June 29th at 5pm. It will be held at the Port office.

MRT:

The Port received a letter from MRT saying they were exercising their right to extend the lease until October 31, 2017.

GRIMMETT PROPERTY:

MOTION: REED SECOND: SOILEAU

A motion was made by Monita Reed and seconded by James Soileau authorizing President Michael Thibodeaux to sign the hunting lease on the Grimmett Property on behalf of the Port. All Commissioners agreed unanimously.

PORT OF ST. BERNARD:

Jacque reported that on Thursday, April 13th, he signed on to the amicus brief in opposition to the writ application against the Port of St. Bernard. It is now up to the Supreme Court as to whether they will hear the case or not.

The next meeting date was scheduled for June 05, 2017. There being no

further business, Commissioner Monita Reed motioned for the meeting to adjourn, seconded by Commissioner James Soileau.
