• Arts in Education Grants are designated to fund creative projects/programs that incorporate “the Arts” in any curriculum
  • Grants up to $2,500
  • Grant Applications are accepted the first of January, April, July and October
  • Teachers may re-apply for grants once Final Reports are submitted

GRANT GUIDELINES
  • For all educators and artists who connect people with art in Calhoun County, Michigan
  • For all creative experiences including, but not limited to, the specific disciplines of Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Literary Arts, Vocal and Instrumental Music, Graphic Design, Photography, and Wood/Metalworking
  • For funding needed for Visiting Artists, Attendance to Performances, Transportation Costs to an Artistic Experience, and Materials and Supplies needed to complete a project

GRANT REVIEW SELECTION CRITERIA

Grant applications are reviewed by a panel of arts and business professionals representing a broad range of experience in the arts based on the following criteria:

  • Project Description and Feasibility
  • Artistic, Cultural and Educational Merit
  • All project/program requests must be tied to specific Michigan Curriculum Benchmarks or Grade Level Content Expectations(GLCE)
  • Community/School Impact
  • Budget being appropriate to complete the project/program

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Final report must be submitted no later than one year after the project is completed
    (See Final Report Guidelines for Dates when Final Report is due). In addition, two or more Photosof the project with signed release forms along with two or more testimonials from participants about the experience must be submitted with the grant final report
  • Failure to submit a final report will exclude the recipient from future funding
