Minister of Brothers & Sisters of St. Francis Region (GA, NC, SC, AL, TN)
Participates in National Secular Franciscan Gathering in Arizona
BLAIRSVILLE, GA – Jerry Rousseau, SFO, of Blairsville, GA, the new regional minister of Brothers & Sisters of St. Francis Region of The Secular Franciscan Order (SFO), participated in the order’s national gathering held in Scottsdale, AZ from Oct. 26 to 31. He represented fraternities from Georgia, North and South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee.
Rousseau is a member of Franciscan Martyrs of Siroki Brijeg Fraternity in Blairsville, GA where he has served as minister and leader. On the regional level, he has served as treasurer, and in August he was elected minister. He was professed in 2004.
Rousseau is a retired director for Delta Airlines for whom he had worked for 36 years. He also served four years in the Air Force. He has been on the board of the Appalachian CPC/Women’s Enrichment Center in both Blairsville and Dalton, GA, and active for the past nine years. As a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Blairsville he has been involved in the ministry to the sick, as cantor, and as extraordinary minister. He is also the Past Grand Knight of the local Council of the Knights of Columbus.
Rousseau lives with his wife, Madeline. They have four children: Michael, Chris, Beth and Brigid. They also have 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
