Gramma Vedetta Biography

In late 2016, three 30 something guys, two from Italy, one from Greece, met in London aiming to put into music their life in this new country.

Dan (former Bones & Comfort and Trophies of Man), Marco and Val (former Black Juju) started having fun jamming together at Pirate Studios in South London. After a couple of rehearsals and they realized they were creating something good...

A frontman/guitarist with heavy rock-blues influences, a Funk-rock bass player with love for electronic music and a metal-head drummer with Stoner Rock influences make up the formula for Gramma Vedetta’s music.

A few rehearsals and the first songs were laid down, recalling the sounds and attitude of the giants of the 70s and the 90s (Sabbath, Zeppelin, Rush, Soundgarden to name but a few.)

With their songs they may touch the boundaries of punk territories or they could go slowly into a journey inside a dark, troubled mind.

You can jump, you can head-bang. You will get lost in space where a fuzzy guitar leaves the galaxy pushed by roaring bass and rocksteady drums, you can do whatever you want to enjoy Gramma Vedetta.

In early 2017 the band was ready for their debut show, which happened at The Water Rats, a venue which has earned its place in the history of UK music.

So after riding stage after stage in the grassroot venues of the capital and with the good feedback from audiences and promoters alike, the band was propelled to book a studio to record the music they had composed thus far.

Working with the talented Guillermo ‘Will’ Maya behind the glass (producer of The Answer, Heretic Order, Mab) the recording began on August 2017.

The result highlighting the mixed-style of the band giving each one of the seven songs a story of its own.

To keep space for more creativity the band decided to release the tracks individually, one at time, creating specific a specific story and art for each song. This process started at beginning of 2018.

Nowadays the band his still meeting in South London, cooking up more songs and expanding their ideas. A full album and a tour are planned for next year.
