Sunderland Intern Factory Ltd is a new subsidiary company of the University of Sunderland that has the aim of creating employment opportunities for Sunderland Graduates linked to the University’s civic mission and its contribution to economic growth in Sunderland and the wider Northeast region.

The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an excellent candidate to join the DEF team. The successful candidate will be a Software Developer, who has recently finished University or who is just about to finish in the summer of 2017. Imagination and strong problem solving skills are vital to the role, as the successful candidate will be working as part of a busy development team on a variety of different projects.

DEF Software are a Microsoft Gold Partner with access to the latest Microsoft technology, and are therefore keen to utilise and explore technological advances. You will be expected to keep up to date with new technology and understand where this technology can be safely applied.

The projects at DEF are extremely varied, covering the whole software lifecycle, yet we primarily focus upon developing and expanding the footprint of our PowerBuilder authored “MasterGov” suite of products. The applicant will find themselves involved in systems scoping and specification production, R&D, billed system modifications and client support.

The Organisation:

DEF Software is a vibrant, highly successful software house made up of a team of proven, top grade professionals with a client portfolio encompassing local government agencies across England and Wales. DEF develops, implements and supports software modules that control and deliver Planning, Building Control, Highways and eGovernment amongst other functions.

In the main, the company creates products using PowerBuilder, the latest .Net technology including WPF, C# and Entity Framework. We’re looking for an ambitious software developer to join us here at DEF.
