Pinkertongue: always wonderful!! Thank you, Sylvia!!
Rescue Committee: a deaf OES from Texas was refused by Lita. Sally Gay has a 1 1\2 year old. Lita is getting a 3 year old owner released dog.
Specialty:
The show on July 20 was a success, with the entire board helping. Thank you!
Thank you notes and compliments from the specialty show shared. Holly McIntire and Nancy Handgraaf both sent notes; Colleen Allen Grady sent an email, as well as complimenting us at the show.
The ribbons and trophies were impressive, complimented with Matt’s beautiful arrangement of flowers. Thank you!
We gave the judges a collection of Made in Oregon products and fresh fruit from Washington and Oregon wrapped like the trophies; they both seemed very pleased.
The catalog was terrific. Thank you to Carolyn and Lita!
Picadilly and auction were wonderful, thanks to lots of donations.
Our potluck was enjoyed by many; it is nice to have a chance to visit with the show pressure off.
The old ribbons are still being worked on, with flags added for event information. We will need to order more ribbons for next shows.
Glen Larsen noticed that the Best of Winners trophy is missing some winners on the engraved plaque. This will be researched, and corrected.
Lita discussed a problem with the Bouvier group; their charges against on of our exhibitors were dismissed.
Calendar Project: Thank you to Bo for the printing! and to Ana and Lita for all their work!
50 were printed and 50 will be done, including the holidays on the date pages. Lita anticipates taking them to OESCA National Show in September to sell at her booth.
Suggestions: card stock front and back covers, punch hole in center for hanging, changing wording inside front cover.
Erskine will donate mat board for the back cover, if the comb binding will work.
Ana is the chairman of the project.
Shirt Proposal: delayed to next meeting, since Jeff absent.
New Business: discussion regarding one or two specialty shows in 2008, including back to back shows in one day or two. MSA to do back to back shows on Friday, July 18, 2008, with DeeDee and Sandy to continue as co-chairmen.
We would love to have volunteers to train for the job!
One catalog will be done for both shows. Obedience will be part of the cluster. The 2-3 hour break between the two specialty shows would allow for potluck and Picadilly.
Fionna and Ron Zammit are potential judges; they are still pending confirmation by PKC. They plan to bring gifts for
the show from Australia; we will send gifts back with them.
Discussion held regarding the OESCA National Specialty Show in 2009. Lita presented research. ’92 was the last year that Portland hosted the show; California is not having the specialty due to their groups’ problems, including AB1634.
It was decided that there are not enough of us to do all the jobs necessary, and we could not offer a quality show at this time.
Our club could consider a future year.
Nest board meeting date will be decided later.
MSA to adjourn at 1:30 pm for picnic and fun.
Respectfully submitted,
Sandy Wood
