Introduction

Govt. Degree College No.2 Bannu is a brilliant addition to the academic activity of district Bannu. It is situated on the Kohat Road. The building of this college does possess a rich academic history starting with khalsa High school, during Sikh rule in Khyber PakhtunKhwa. It was inaugurated on March 7, 1918. Later on, it was declared as Govt. Degree College in 1952. It also served this locality as Commerce College. The fluctuations of time did happen but to this day, its function of spreading knowledge has never ceased to exit. Although the building deteriorated with the ravages of time but the pursuit of learning has always flourished in this old building. For some time, the building remained deserted but its revival and renovation came at last when Govt. Degree College No.2 was started in this building on Nov.24, 1998.Since then, it has been striving to attain the highest academic goals.

Principal’s Message

Education is not the learning of facts but the training of the minds to think. During the process of this training, an individual has to determine an aim/goal for himself in his life. That is why it is said that life is the name of a continuous struggle for existence .Life always carries a sense of incompleteness in itself and hence a pressing desire to have it completed and satisfied. This completion and satisfaction is impossible without having a well defined and clear aim/goal in life, because such an aim/goal inspires an individual for more and more hard work and struggle. Life, without an aim/goal, becomes a futile practice. And the fact is that one’s genuine and sincere struggle, to get one’s aim/goal never goes waste, because Allah always helps those who help themselves.

G.D.C. No.2, Bannu and its staff help the students to find/determine a clear aim/goal for themselves. During their stay in this college, the students are given a proper training /guidance for the pursuit of their aims/goals. That is why the students of this college never fail in life.

I wish every success and joy for all the students of this great and renowned institution.
