Goodwill Industries of Northern New England Veterans Fund

This fund has been created by Goodwill Industries of Northern New England

to benefit stateside veterans’ unmetneeds.

Who is Eligible?

  • All stateside veterans, regardless of discharge status, currently living in Maine, New Hampshire & Vermont (priority given to those who have served in combat zones).
  • All spouses and children of fallen soldiers.

The Veterans Fund was created to assist veterans with short term needs where no other financial resources are available. Each application is reviewed for complete details of request and depth of need. The Veterans Fund Committee considers each application on an individual basis. You may be referred to other agencies to access additional resources.

Examples of Eligible Applications

One time financial needs such as:

-Car repair (include 2 written estimates from garage)

-Fees for licensing exams or training/education

-Equipment/materials needed for employment & training

-Heating fuel – up to 100 gallons

We can not consider requests for housing, monthly basic necessities or outstanding debt due to the limited financial capacity of the Fund.

How will a decision be made?

-All applications will be reviewed by a committee of volunteer veterans at a monthly committee meeting.

-Applicants will be notified when their application is received and again when a decision is reached.

-Goodwill NNE will contact applicant and/or referral source with requests for additional information, if needed.

How will funds be distributed?

-Goodwill NNE is a third-party payer; funds will not be provided directly to the applicant but will be paid directly to the resource. To have your request considered in a timely manner, please ensure all appropriate information is included with the application. If your application is not complete, it may result in delay of consideration.

  • Requests may not exceed$1,000. Only 1 application per 12 month period.
  • A copy of applicant’s DD214 or a Casualty Form must be attached for consideration.
