JOB TITLE :
Fundraising Executive – Have a Heart & Help A South Wales Child, Global Charities -3 month fixed contract
REPORTING TO:
Have a Heart & Help A South Wales Child Charity Manager
CORE HOURS:
9am – 5.30pm
LOCATION:
Leicester Square, London (some travel to Cardiff and regional Heart stations will be required)
JOB PURPOSE AND CONTEXT:
Have a Heart is the charity associated with the Heart network of radio stations, and Help A South Wales Child is the charity associated with Red Dragon FM in Cardiff. The purpose of this role is to support the the management of the fundraising activities and communications (both internal and external) of both of these charity appeals.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the delivery of scheduled fundraising activities for Help A South Wales Child. To include communications with internal and external stakeholders and event participants; and basic event management (budgetry control, health and safety, event organisation, management of the charity messaging at the event, post event wrap up).
Support the planning for the launch of the new Have a Heart charity partnership, and the Have a Heart Appeal 2011. To include monitoring and ongoing development of the project plan, assisting in the production of marketing materials, sourcing of auction items, donor care planning, presentation preparation and co-ordinating internal meetings.
General administrative support for both charity appeals (responding to incoming enquiries, attending meetings and being an internal point of contact for both appeals).

  • Deadlines hit
  • Positive feedback from internal and external stakeholders
  • Positive feedback from listeners who make enquiries regarding charitable events
  • Auction prizes of adequate quality and quantity
  • Responsiveness to the more general fundraising needs in the team appeal

SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Either two years charity fundraising experience (ideally involving a level of contact with a broadcaster) or two years experience of working on charitable activities within a broadcast environment
  • Knowledge of the radio broadcasting industry would be beneficial
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Enthusiastic, persuasive and determined
  • Able to use Word, Excel and Powerpoint to a good level
  • Good telephone manner
  • Highly organised with a structured approach and able to work to deadlines and constantly changing demands
  • Successfully manage a wide range of different tasks
  • Able to remain effective under pressure and to show initiative and enthusiasm when prioritising workload
  • A self motivated and capable team player

WORKING RELATIONSHIP REQUIREMENTS:
The role reports to the Have a Heart & Help A South Wales Child Charity Manager.The post holder will be a member of a charity team based in LondonThe role requires frequent contact with members of the public, corporate supporters, charity and radio station employees at all levels.
