Mr. & Miss GSW
The Mr. and Miss GSW will be the overall representatives of the University. Our 2018 Mr. and Miss GSW will be selected based upon the following minimum qualifications: Academic Excellence, Campus involvement, Leadership, Community Service, and Enthusiasm toward Georgia Southwestern, Poise, and most importantly, by a student wide election.
Guidelines for Registering a Candidate:
1. Candidates must be sponsored by a currently registered and recognized student organization, residence hall floor, or athletic team.
2. Candidates must have a minimum 2.5 graduating Grade Point Average, have completed 30 semester hours at this institution, and must currently be enrolled in at least 12 hours.
3. Candidates are expected to attend all activities during homecoming week.
4. Each candidate must submit the following materials by Monday, January 22, 2018 at 12:00 PM to the Office of Student Government Association.

5. Candidates must be in good conduct standing with the University (Subject for review by the Office of Student Life).
6. Each organization may only sponsor one person for Mr. GSW and one person for Miss GSW.
7. Candidates must participate in the Coronation Practice. The date/time/location is TBA to each candidates RADAR email.
a. Attire for Coronation is formal/prom attire.
**NOTE**
Candidates will not be considered if any of the above qualifications are not met.

Responsibilities of Mr. & Miss GSW
1. All Candidates are expected to attend most, if not all, Homecoming Activities during the week.
2. Mr. & Miss GSW are required to attend the following events in the upcoming year, if asked:
Ø Present at all Preview Days (Student Fair)
Ø Storm Day – at least one time
Ø Tour Guides with Zephyrs – at least one time
Ø Go to University 1000 Class and talk about experience at GSW
Ø Walk with Surge at Sporting Events
3. Mr. & Miss GSW must continue to be enrolled in 12 or more hours and maintain a 2.5 graduating GPA at Georgia Southwestern State University through spring semester and Fall Semester of 2018.
4. Mr. Miss GSW are also expected to attend Homecoming events of the following year to crown the new Mr. & Miss GSW, if asked.
5. The attire for the Coronation is formal/prom attire.
**NOTE**
If Mr. and Miss GSW cannot fulfill these obligations, he/she will relinquish his/her duties and the first runner up will assume his/her duties.
