- Jane Chiodo called the meeting to order at 7:01pm. A quorum was met, see attached sign-in sheet.
 - April 2015 GeneralMeeting Minutes stand as approved.
 - Secretary’s Report –Amy Harris/Laura Miller: no new news to report
 - Principal’s Report – Bethel Santos: 7 new teachers at S.V. this year
 - Treasurer’s Report:Shari Neal:
 
- Year End Financial Review completed.
 - 2016-2017 Budget: Highlighted changes- increased amount for Staff Appreciation & Classroom enrichment (Scholastic News)
 - Check Signers: Kristina DeLeo (VP), Joanna Gunderson (VP), Shari Neal (VP), Jane Chiodo (President), Sandy Nivas (Treasurer).
 - Statement Viewer (Shelby King) was approved at BOD meeting.
 - Reports were given to Jane Chiodo (president). See attached report.
 
Motion #1:Shari Neal moved that we approve the 2016-17 budget as presented. Motion passed.
- COMMITTEE UPDATES
 
- Fall Fundraiser Update – Carol Beth McIntosh: Envelopes due Friday.
 - Membership Update – Kristina DeLeo: At least 175 members so far.
 - Advocacy – Steve Rubenstein: PTA legislative assembly in Oct.
 - EAP Update & Classic Books – Bonnie Plottner: Nominations for EAP program end Nov. 4th. Classic Books: Fall session-4 weeks. Volunteers needed.
 - Art Docent Program Update – Kristina DeLeo: Luisa Vega is this year’s coordinator. 5 classrooms still need docents: Hobbs, Marilley, Prichard, Whaley & Van Duesen.
 - Bagel w/ a Buddy – Erin Sunday/Joanna Gunderson: Oct. 21st before school. Students must be accompanied by an adult.
 - Exploring Science Night–Nancy Friday/Mark Miller & Steve Rubenstein: Dec. 9th?. 3-D doodler? Grant from SPEEA for $250 can be used for this event.
 - Spirit Wear – Shelby King/Kristina DeLeo: Change in logo/color. Flyers come out in about a week. Give away spirit wear as a fundraising prize?
 - Staff Appreciation – Joanna Gunderson for Heather Scherber: Each grade level will sponsor a themed luncheon.
 - Reflections – Jane Chiodo: Due date, Oct. 28th Entry forms/guidelines in office
 
- NEW BUSINESS – MEMBERS VOTE:
 
- 2016-2017 New VP and New Treasurer Approval: Motion #2: Christy Freriks moved that Shari Neal be voted for the office of Vice President and Sandy Nivas as Treasurer of the Shelton View PTA for 2016-17. Motion passed.
 - 2016-2017Nominating Committee Approval: Motion #3: Christy Freriks move that Laura Miller, Kristina DeLeo, & Joanna Gunderson serve as the Nominating Committee for the SV PTA for 2016-17. Motion passed.
 - 2016-2017 Legislative Assembly Delegate Approval: Motion #4: Christy Freriks moved that Steven Rubenstein serve at legislative Assembly for SV PTA for 2016-17. Motioned passed.
 - 2016-2017 Standing Rules Approval Motion #5: Christy Freriks moved to approve the standing rules of SV PTA for 2016-17. Motion passed.
 - 2016-2017 Mission & Goals Approval Motion #6: Joanna Gunderson moved that we approve the 2016-17 mission statement and goals of the PTA. Motioned passed.
