General Agreement & Release of Liability

I, ______(Must be a Parent or Guardian if person named above is under the age of 18), hereby acknowledge that I have requested permission to ride in the public arena at Wunderlich County Park of San Mateo (WCP).I have read and agree to abide by the Wunderlich County Park of San Mateo Use Rules. I am aware that riding and all other forms of equestrian activities, including the teaching, training or coaching thereof can be hazardous. I am voluntarily participating in equestrian or other activities with the knowledge of the danger involved and herby agree to accept any and all risks of injury or death.

GENERAL RULES:

  • Membership is required to use the arena at WCP.
  • Your membership card must be worn and visible at all times.
  • The replacement fee for a lost membership card is $5.00.
  • Riders are expected to clean up after your horse.
  • Helmets required for anyone 18 or under.
  • When approaching another rider head on please pass “left shoulder-to-left shoulder.”
  • You may not lunge if another rider is in the ring .
  • You may not turn out loose in the ring.
  • You may use the round pen. Do not leave horses unattended in the round pen.
  • Horses may be turned out in the round pen one at a time and without tack including halters.
  • Use the provided mounting block. Do not stand on arena or turn out fencing to mount your horse.
  • Do not tie horses to turn outs, arena, round pen, or benches.
  • Lessons given by Folger Stable staff takes precedence over public use.
  • Public may not use the jumps, poles, cones, whips etc that belong to Folger Staff and boarders.
  • Public trainers and instructors of any kind must provide proof of insurance before entering the ring.
  • Please practice safety and respect at all times.
  • Do not use the ring when it is marked “Closed.”
  • Keep the ring gate closed at all times.
  • All injuries and accidents must be reported to Folger Staff immediately.
  • Membership does not include use of Folger Stable facilities and amenities (except the ring and round pen).
  • All Wunderlich County Park of San Mateo rules apply and can be found at:
  • You may not enter the ring while the ring is being groomed or if there is any equipment present in the ring.
  • All nonmembers must remain out of the ring and round pen except in case of an emergency.
  • Membership is revocable at any time if you break the rules or exhibit careless or reckless behavior.

All trainers and instructors must carry the appropriate equine liability insurance. Proof of insurance is mandatory. Please list

All clinics and camps must first be in advance by San Mateo County Parks. Please be respectful of lessons given by Folger Staff.

Drop off your membership forms at the office located in the Main Barn of Folger Stable. Kristina Chancholo, interim barn manager, will then print out your membership card. Please contact Kristina before picking up your membership card.
