We are excited for the 14th Annual Gatway to Bridge and Summer Bridge Programs and look forward to having you in the program. The purpose of this letter is to provide you with information regarding the program. Please read through this packet carefully and if you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Move in dates: Sunday, July 24, 2016

Gateway to Bridge dates: Monday July 25 – Friday July 29, 2016

Summer Bridge: Saturday July 30 throughSaturday, August 13.

Included in this packet is your weekly schedule and graded weekend schedule.

You are required to participate in ALL weekend events and Mandatory Study

•Movein day:Check-in will start at 12:00 p.m. and go until 4:00 p.m. in Commons East - we will have flags and signs directing you to the building.You can move all of your personal items for the academic year. There will only be 40 people moving in on July 24 compared to August 28 when 300 plus students will be moving in. Studentswillhaveadditionalpaperworkatthetimeof check-in. Please bring health insurance provider and policy number with you.(Anyoneunder theageofeighteenmusthaveparentsignatures). The AOS office will host a picnic around 5:00 p.m. for the families and friends of Gateway/Summer Bridge students. It will be out in front of the Commons East building.

Living arrangements: All students are required to stay on campus for the duration of the three-week program. Students will be residing in Selene and Buckingham during the program.

Accommodations: If you need any academic or physical living accommodation(s) please contact Disability Services (507)-537-7672 or . Even if you have been in contact with her, please check with her to ensure that all of your accommodations are in place. (i.e. pca care, note takersetc.)

•Food: The first week your meals will be prepared by the AOS faculty and mentors during the second and third week the majority of your meals will be prepared by Hardees (Har Mar food. Please let us know if youhave any food preferences or allergies.We will accommodate your needs.

Login and Passwords: Please come to Summer Bridge knowing your mustang ID, Star ID, and passwords, this is necessary for the classes your are taking.

•Mail Delivery: Mail Service will not be available to your house during Summer Bridge, please use this address during Bridge:1501 State Street, Marshall MN 56258 C/0 Michele KnifeSterner

•Laundry: There will be established laundry times during the threeweeks. 1.75 total for washing and drying.

Required items: Paper, pens, pencils, jump drives, folders, extra long twin size bed sheets, pillow, fan,blankets,personal toiletries,laundrymoney ($1.75perloadW&D),alarmclock, personal linens (towels), swimming suit, clothes that can get dirty, old sneakers and good shoes forwalking.

Suggested items: insect repellant, sun screen, computer, printer with extra cartridges, surge protector, and any other personal items that may make your stay better including: pictures, TV,stereo,MP3oriPod,CD's,movies,VCRorDVDplayer,books,games,microwave,mini fridge,etc.

FallCourseSchedule:Duringthefirstweekwewillarrangeyourschedule,assome ofyou willhavebeenregisteredforSpeechandSociology.

•Move Out: Students who are not staying in the AOS Living and Learning Community will be provided time to move into their academic year residence the last week of Summer Bridge and specifically the morning of Saturday August 13th. If a student decides that they would like to live in the AOS LLC please talk to Michele Knife Sterner. Please note that it may not be in the room that they were placed in for SummerBridge.

Gold Rush Day's: AOS Summer Bridge students are expected to participate in the Gold Rush Day's that start on August 18th and Convocation on August 19th.

Please complete your housing and board contract for fall (before Summer Bridge). If you do not, you will be required to complete it on orientation day and place a $100.00 deposit for your room. Residential Life will not allowyou to charge this toyour bill, so come prepared to pay whenyou arrive! If you have already paid your dorm deposit for the fall semester, you do not need to pay thisagain.
