How does a critical access hospital attract and hire multiple family medicine physicians to a community of 2,300 residents in rural Colorado? Learn how a brand new CEO successfully faced this challenge when he arrived and now stays ahead of the game.

The presenters will outline the challenge and discuss how three – “smart moves” – are integral to recruitment success: 1) Differentiate 2) Leave no doubt and 3) Timing is everything.

Jason DiLorenzo, Founder & Executive Director

Doctors Without Quarters

The Impact of Student Loans on a Physician’s Career Path

Jason DiLorenzo is the Founder of Doctors Without Quarters, a national student debt advisory firm dedicated to the financial wellness of early-career graduate health professionals. Since 2010, he has served as an expert lecturer and panelist for graduate schools, hospitals, and national conferences on the increasingly complex and evolving topic of student loan debt best practices and federal loan legislation that can benefit many of today's young professionals.

Jason graduated with a BBA in Finance from Stetson University. When he’s not working with young doctors to strategically reduce their debt, you’ll likely find him in the mountains on a snowboard or in a pair of hiking shoes, playing volleyball, or taking in an outdoor concert.

This workshop will discuss the student loan debt burden facing today’s physicians, and how it is beginning to impact their career choices. We’ll take an in-depth look at Public Service Loan Forgiveness, Income Driven Repayment plans, and the rapidly evolving refinancing marketplace. We will then walk through case studies, analysis, and salary equivalent comparisons to show how different repayment strategies can be utilized to complement your exiting compensation structure to not only recruit, but also retain early career physicians.
