College of Creative Arts Excellence in Research and Creative Activity Award 2018

The college’s Excellence in Research and Creative Activity Award 2018 is for full-time faculty.

Submission Instructions: Please note that the following are general guidelines for applicants and not intended to be all encompassing criteria that each candidate must possess for consideration. Applicants are not expected to address each of the listed criteria; however, to be competitive candidates, will have significant contributions in the identified areas.

The award evaluates a record covering a period of the most recent three (3) years, summers included, beginning with January 1, 2015, continuing through December 31, 2017.

Excellence in Creative/Performance/Professional Activities

1.Contribution to intellectual environment locally, regionally, nationally, or internationally through excellence in Creative/Performance/Scholarly Activities.

2.The originality/creativity and significance of the Creative/Performance/Scholarly Activities.

3.Creative activity, such as performances, exhibits, or design production, which is an invited activity of local, regional, national, or international merit and substantiated with positive reviews.

4.Creative/Performance/Scholarly Activities invited/refereed at conferences and professional meetings at local, state, national, or international forums.

5.Professional activity, such as grants (completed and funded), classroom research, contracts, patents and copyrights, computer software and/or adaptation, and technology.

6.Serving to further the interests of a professional organization related to the individual’s area of professional expertise.

7.Publication of original scholarly research by refereed journals.

8.Publication of a book or book chapters by a reputable publisher.

7.Participants are encouraged to include other activities that may not have been addressed by the guidelines stated above.

Process of Selection and Nomination Guidelines

1.The Executive Planning Council will serve as the Excellence in Research and Creativity Award Committee.

2.The Committee reviews all submitted materials. One faculty from the College of Creative Arts will be selected to receive the award. All full-time, faculty are eligible for this award.

3.Nominations are accepted from a faculty member in the college, from a student, or a faculty member may self-nominate.

4.School directors and the dean may not nominate a faculty member for the award.

5.Nomination forms are found on the college’s web site.

6. The nominee is responsible for compiling the packet of information.

7.A person should not receive the award more than once in a five-year period.

8. Return the nomination packet to the college office by April 2, 2018.

9. The nomination must include the following:

  1. A narrative statement from the nominator outlining the nominee’s creative achievements and their significance to the discipline.
  2. A copy of the nominee’s current curriculum vitae
