This week’s library trivia contest asks “From what material were the first pencil erasers made?” Come to the library to enter!
Part Time hours- The YMCA is seeking Group Leaders for After & Before School Programs located in the Haskell/Wanaque area. Candidate must be a responsible, reliable individual, with some childcare experience. Candidate will assist with snack, homework, outdoor play, and provide a safe, fun and nurturing environment for all children in the program. Employee must be outgoing and have great communication skills; must promote excellent character values and healthy habits. If interested please call Mrs. Griffiths at 201-955-5300 ext. 15. All applicants (over the age 18) will be required to complete a background check. Compensation ranges between $7.25 and $10.00 an hour.
REPEAT ANNOUNCEMENTS
Our first Dress For Success Day this year is scheduled for Friday, September 28th. All students dressed in BUSINESS ATTIRE will be admitted into the cafeteria for breakfast with a chance to win door prizes. We welcome our new freshman class and would like to encourage them to be part of this school-wide initiative. More information about Dress For Success Days can be found on the bulletin board outside the Main Office. To ensure we have enough food for all participants, it is mandatory that students sign up in the Main Office by Tuesday, September 25. *You only get one chance to make a first impression.*
ATTENTION JUNIORS and SENIORS: We will be sponsoring a College Tour for University of Scranton and Bloomsburg University on October 26th. If you are interested in attending, see your Guidance Counselor and register for the trip on Naviance. The cost of the trip is $15.00; lunch is provided.
LEAP (Leaders Encouraging Adolescent Progress) is a peer leader organization which is open to any student in any grade. LEAP members need to be committed to an alcohol / drug-free lifestyle and be willing to volunteer to help others through community service. Any student who wants to become a new LEAP member for this year must fill out an application. Applications can be picked up from Dr. Danziger or Ms. Janet Ross in the Guidance Office.
