Sept. 28, 2017

  1. Amy and Raquel (committee co-chairs) met with Mrs. Hay and Mr. Yaychuck about fundraising priorities.
  2. Gym projector – ceiling mounted, for use in gym class, assemblies and other classes. The school has some budget for it and the committee has committed to helping out with the purchase.
  3. New seating for playground – for students to sit at recess and so classes can go outside and have somewhere to sit. Meeting have already taken place with police regarding vandalism and there hasn’t been anything happening lately. Committee has priced out 4 large tables with attached seats. School will purchase 2 and committee with purchase 2.
  4. Continued support for breakfast and lunch programs. School has purchased large blenders, Mr. Yaychuck got food handling license. Amy purchased secondhand commercial toaster. So more options are available for these programs this year.

  2. Halloween Howl: Oct. 18 (setup Oct. 17)
  3. Popcorn Sale: Last Friday of every month – huge success last year
  4. Christmas Shopping Spree: Dec. 5 and 6 (set up the evening of Monday, Dec. 4)
  5. Christmas Basket Sale: Dec. 14 (during Christmas concert
  6. Clothing sale: late January (t-shirts and hoodies)
  7. Book Sale: April 12 and 13 (same time as parent-teacher meetings) – huge success last year
  8. End of the school year BBQ – June 6
  1. Christmas Concert – Dec. 14 (snow date Dec. 15). More students this year so the school is exploring options to accommodate all families.
  1. Teacher Appreciation – spread it out throughout the year
  2. Monthly signup sheet to bring in something one day a month for the teachers
  3. February lunch – we provide this during teacher appreciation week.
  4. Create a parent support list from the volunteer forms – classroom helpers are especially needed with more kids in the school (doesn’t even have to be your child’s classroom), can be grandparents or caregivers too
  1. Halloween Howl – Oct. 18, 5:30 – 7 pm
  2. Spreading it out to all floors this year so not overcrowded
  3. Basement – Gym: Plinko, pick nose game, toilet plunger race, photo booth on stage

-Classrooms: food and tables with second room for overflow and a craft room

  • Main floor – Classrooms: cupcake walk, cookie decorating (2 rooms), musical chairs, toilet toss game
  • Top floor – Classrooms: craft room, cupcake walk, pin the tail on boo, mummy wrapping game, decorated pumpkin voting (sell tickets and draw to see who gets t keep the pumpkin, top seller’s class gets a pizza party)
  • Food:
  • Pizza/garlic fingers
  • Drinks
  • Popcorn
  • Amy to ask for donations for cookies and icing. We might be able to get cupcakes donated too (if not there’s a sign-up sheet)

  • Door (4-6, only at beginning)
  1. Donations to school – there’s always room for donations to breakfast program. A few things they look for:
  2. Ziploc bags
  3. Plastic forks and spoons
  4. Mini Wheats
  1. Christmas Shopping Spree – Dec. 5 & 6
  2. $5 per item
  3. Keep an eye out for sales, can’t be more than $5 after tax
  4. Good to get handmade things (knitting, etc.), golf balls, especially look for things for men
  1. Next meeting – November 9at 6:30 pm at the school – to discuss Shopping Spree and Christmas Basket raffle
