Fourth Quarter Project

Due April 30th, 2015

For the fourth quarter project you have four options to choose from. You should choose only one of the four.

  1. Music Video: Create your own song or change the lyrics to an existing song to go along with an era of history that we have studied. This project can be done in groups of up to 4. Then make a music video with the new lyrics in place of the old. Be as creative as possible. The lyrics should be carefully written linking as many key terms as possible.
  2. Requirements:
  3. Video must be transferred onto a USB flash drive, uploaded on YouTube or emailed to me.
  4. A lyrics sheet with all group members names must accompany the video
  1. Renaissance Apprentice: You are an apprentice for a famous Renaissance artist, inventor or author. Write three journal entries (about 3 paragraphs each) about your master (who he is, what he created, etc.) and two journal entries ( about 3 paragraphs each)about yourself (what life is like where you live, what you are working on, etc.) You can not work in groups on this project.
  2. Requirements:
  3. A total of 5 Journal articles.
  4. Articles should be typed.
  5. The articles should be proofread and have no grammar or spelling mistakes
  6. The articles should be creatively presented (in other words don’t just print out 5 pages of computer paper)
  7. Include some sketches of some of your own inventions.
  1. Comic Book: Relay a story set in a time of history we have studied through pictures. For example – create a story about a Spartan soldier going off to war against the Athenians during the Peloponnesian War. This project cannot be done in groups.
  2. Requirements:
  3. The Comic book should contain some facts and be accurate to the historical time period.
  4. It is difficult to put a length requirement on a project like this. All I can say is that it will be graded on effort and refinement- not artistic ability.
  1. Create your own project: Have a good idea for something fun and creative dealing with the topics we have covered – great –let me know. This one is wide open – the only catch is that it must be approved by me first. Create your own requirements and either talk to me before or after class or email me. This project can be done in groups of up to 4 – but as the numbers go up the amount of work should too.
  2. Requirements: Must be approved by me.

How will you be graded?

Effort (does it look like time was put into this project)

Refinement (Are there typos in your articles? Do you know the lyrics to your song, etc.)

Creativity (does your project have something unique about it?)

Facts (there should be some historical facts in the projects)
