- ENTRIES: A separate entry form and fee is required for each competition. Entries close on the Friday prior to the competition, withdrawals should be received the Saturday prior to the competition by phone. ENTRY FEES: Members £5.00 Non-Members £7.00
Start fee: there is a start fee of £1 per test which is passed to our judges. Please pay the secretary when collecting your number.
- ELIGIBILITY: All classes are open to members and non-members.
Class 1: Open to horse and rider combinations who have not won any dressage competition as at 5 May 2015.
Class 2 & 3:Open to all horses and riders provided that the combination has no BD points, and for Class 2 that they have not previously won the Prelim league.
Class 4 5: Open to all horses and riders.
Class 6: Open to all horses and riders. Each test will require a separate entry and entry fee. Scores will be expressed as a percentage of the total marks for each test and the rider with the highest percentage will be placed first.
- START TIMES: available on on Sunday evening prior to the competition. If the website is not available or you cannot access it, you can obtain your start times between 9pm and 10pm on the Sunday night by telephoning Linda Lucey on 01259 752572.
- PRIZES: Rosettes will be awarded in all classes to 6th place.
5.MEMBERS POINTS LEAGUE: Points will be awarded to members: 1st 10 points, 2nd 8 points, 3rd 5 points, 4th 3 points, 5th 2 points and 6th 1 point plus 1 point per dressage league show attended. At the end of the league the combination with the most points will be the winner. Trophies will be awarded to members at the AGM. To be eligible for points, riders must be a member before the competition in question. Members joining on the night of a competition will not be eligible for points that night. Winners of the Intro, Prelim and Novice leagues are not eligible for those leagues respectively in the following year with the same horse.
6.SCOTTISH VETERAN DRESSAGE SERIES : Classes 1 (Intro),2 (Prelim), 4 (Novice), 6 (Elementary and Medium) are qualifiers for the Scottish Veteran Dressage Series. Rules on the website at Eligible partnerships gaining over 58% qualify for the finals in April 2016. Please indicate on the entry form if you are eligible. (Qualifying criteria subject to confirmation from SVD)
7.RRI DRESSAGE SERIES: Classes 1 (intro), 3 (Prelim), 5 (Novice) and 6 (Elementary and Medium) are qualifiers for the RRI dressage series. Rules on the website at First placed (if fewer than 4 entries in class), first two (if 4-6 entries in class) or three (if more than 6 entries) gaining over 58% qualify for the finals in April 2016. (Qualifying criteria subject to confirmation from RRI)
COMPETITON RULES
1.All classes run under BD rules (including tack and dress, see rules on The judge’s decision is final.
2.Horse / rider combinations may only enter 2 consecutive dressage levels on any night, eg prelim and novice or novice and elementary.
3.Horses must be 4 years old or over to compete.
4.All entries must be pre-paid, entries by phone / email will not be accepted. Entries are limited and will be taken on a first come first served basis.
5.Complaints must be given to the Secretary in writing, together with £20 deposit before prize giving. If the complaint is upheld the deposit will be refunded.
6.Dogs are allowed on the showground, but must be on a short lead at all times.
7.The Committee reserves the right to refuse entries, or alter or cancel a class.
8.By entering the competition, competitors agree to be bound by these rules.
Save for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of any event to which these rules apply, nor any member of Forthview Riding Club nor the British Horse Society, nor any agent, employee, representative of these bodies accepts liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land or any other person or property what so ever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in any other way what so ever
