The Stanislaus National Forest (STF) seeking to fill a permanent full time position for a Forester (Sale Preparation) GS-460-5/7/9. The position will be located on Calaveras Ranger District in Hathaway Pines, CA.
Duties of this position include: This position assembles and review timber sales contract packages. Determines plans and arranges for the resources needed to complete the layout of sales. Identifies and verifies the land status and environmental constraints affecting layout of the proposed project on the ground. Completes environmental assessment reports and environmental impact statements. Monitors and oversees cruising and marking of timber and prepares general logging plans. Conducts inspections of logging operations to determine compliance with specific contract provisions. Maintains records of timber cut and ensures collection of payments. Prepares formal changes in timber sales contracts. Conducts final inspection and recommends closure of timber sale contracts.
