We are a small multi-disciplinary firm specializing in ecological design and we are seeking an individual with experience in planning and designing civil engineering project components to join our team. The candidate will be involved with projects related to land development, roads and parkways, land subdivisions, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure, and commercial, industrial site planning.They will be expected to be able to effectively interact and communicate with coworkers, clients, and state and local government agencies on overall project phases and requirements as appropriate for their level of experience.

Candidates must be able to compile and analyze data and information on such site conditions as geographic location,soil, vegetation,drainage runoff, and locations of existing infrastructure, for the preparation ofconceptual, preliminary, and final design documents.The ideal candidates should be able to prepare feasibility studies, subdivision & land development plans, layout & grading designs, utility plans, and traditional and green technology stormwater treatment designs. The individual may review construction work in progress to ensure compliance with specifications, to approve quality of materials and work, and to advise client and construction personnel on project design features.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare existing site surveys and exhibits that document, evaluate, and recommend solutions for civil engineering projects.
  • Prepare detailed construction drawings and specifications.
  • Provide third party reviews of plans and specifications.
  • Provide contract administration services during construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Participate in development and drafting of design details.
  • Prepare engineering computations and design reports.
  • Perform related duties as assigned or required to meet company goals and objectives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university
  • Passing completion of F.E. exam [Registration as a P.E. is preferred. The ability and willingness to obtain registration as a professional engineer in the State of Delaware OR professional registration in another jurisdiction with the ability to obtain registration in Delaware is a requirement]
  • Must be proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and familiar with other commonly used design and drainage analysis software
  • Basic familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic computations and modeling. Experience with land surveying techniques and land development practices a plus
  • A minimum of 1-5years’ experience with relevant work
  • Excellent communication, graphic, and writing skills using proper vocabulary and grammar
  • Team player, detail oriented, and driven to deliver client satisfaction
