MAYOR MITCH LANDRIEU HONORED WITH2016 INSPIRED CROSS AWARD DURING DAUGHTERS OF CHARITY FOUNDATION OF NEW ORLEANS’

FIFTH ANNUAL GALA

New Orleans, LA—Daughters of Charity Foundation of New Orleans (DCFNO) presented the Honorable Mitchell J. Landrieu, Mayor of the City of New Orleans,with the 2016 Inspired Cross Award at the Foundation’s fifth annual “Keeping Our Promises” Gala Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Messina’s at the Terminal. This exciting eventbegan with a Patron Party from 7 to 8 p.m.The Gala, which included the presentation of the Inspired Cross Award and a silent auction, immediately followed until 11 p.m.It also included the official launch of the Krewe of Hotel Dieu, which is a community of individuals who have a connection to Hotel Dieu Hospital – the local hospital owned and operated by the Daughters of Charity from 1859 to 1992.

“We were delighted to present the 2016 Inspired Cross Award to Mayor Landrieu,” said Michael G. Griffin, President and CEO of Daughters of Charity Services of New Orleans. “The Mayor has worked tirelessly to improve the health status of our community, and his commitment to return accessible primary and preventive health care to New Orleans East through a public-private partnership with the Daughters, as well as a full-service hospital in collaboration with the New Orleans Hospital Service District and LCMC, is commendable.”

The Inspired Cross Award is presented annually to individuals and/or organizations who have worked with Daughters of Charity Services of New Orleans(DCSNO), a non-profit health care organization,to “keep its promises” to provide health care for those in need,and to transform health care through innovation and courage.

In addition to celebrating the achievementsof the 2016 Inspired Cross Awardee, the Gala also raises much-needed funds to improve the health and well-being of our community.

Dr. Corey Hebert and Mullady Voelker were chairs for this year’s Gala.

Entertainment was provided by Tanya Boutte and Friends.
