Step Up and Dance is The Customs House’s dance platform for North and South Tyneside, a fantastic opportunity for groups to perform on a professional stage in front of a public audience.

-We only have space to showcase the work of 10 groups, so each participating organisationis limited to just one group each.

-Groups placing an emphasis on new and original choreography set to interesting soundtracks are favoured.

-Performances can last a maximum of 7 minutes with groups of no more than 20 dancers performing.

-There is no fee for taking part in Step Up and Dance.

Step Up and Dance will take place on Tuesday 6thFebruary 2018 at 7pm and once again include the Pulse optional progression element - with some groups chosen to perform at Dance City in Newcastle on Saturday 17th March. To take part in Pulse, groups must be made up of 11-19 year olds (and disabled young people up to the age of 24).From the Dance City event two groups will be selected to represent the North East in Suffolk in July 2018.

In order for your work to be considered, we will require you to submit this form by Sunday 26th Novemberto .

Section D – Regulation Requirements
What insurance cover do you have for your work with the group?
Chaperone/Licensing / Please read thoroughly the guidelines for Child Performers Licensing and Chaperones (pages 11 of the guidance notes)
Does the Group currently have the appropriate number of up-to-date local authority licensed chaperones? (i.e. 1 licensed chaperone per 12 members aged 16 and under)
If you cannot provide the appropriate number of Authority Licensed Chaperones by the date of the festival your group may be unable to perform.
