Trainee Bank Officer - Operations (Group O & T)

You will help to prudently manage risk through reducing operational errors and ensure compliance with established policies and guidelines while striving to achieve economies through scale and integrating operational activities.

We currently have opportunities infollowing processing units:

  • Treasury Operations provides settlements support to Group Treasury and Capital Markets on fixed income securities trading, inter-bank and customer foreign exchange transactions, securities issued by the Monetary Authorities of Singapore (MAS), and Singapore Dollar and foreign currency inter-bank borrowing and lending
  • Payment Operations provides support to business units in SWIFT, MEPS and remittance processing, Local inward and outward cheque clearing and inter-bank GIRO payments processing

Position 2

Trainee Bank Officer - Information Technology (Group O & T)

Providing IT infrastructure support and solutions, you will be more than just a creator of intelligent systems applications, and will be given opportunities in variety of functions such as systems support, development, and project management. You will contribute additional value by recommending prudent IT alternatives and work with our team of professionals – specialising in systems support, project management and change management and systems control –, helping to leverage OCBC’s scale by simplifying, standardising and integrating existing business processes and technology applications to support the Bank’s businesses.

In addition, you will:

  • Design, develop, maintain the application systems to support banking operations
  • Deliver key projects and IT enhancements and solutions to meet functional and technical objectives of our businesses
  • Meet with business users and conduct analyses and requirements studies
  • Prepare functional and technical specifications, test plans, and SDLC documents
  • Conduct systems-integrated testing and coordinate user acceptance tests
  • Liaise with vendors, consultants and internal customers for smooth delivery of IT services
  • Prepare monthly project progress reports to track and monitor project status and resources

You must be an analytical, results-oriented graduate in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field with strong business acumen and good communication, presentation and interpersonal and leadership skills. You also be a team-player, and should have a good knowledge of banking products and systems as well as a sound understanding of system development process.

Responsibilities:

You will personally provide comprehensive, financial advisory services to customers through actively promoting and cross-selling our full range consumer financial products. You will also help to effectively answer customer enquiries over the telephone.

Requirements:

You must have a positive working attitude and a high degree of initiative, and should have a degree in any discipline or diploma with some work experience in a Contact Centre, Banking or Customer Service environment preferred. Excellent communications and interpersonal skills and you must be a team-player single-mindedly focused on providing quality customer service. Responsibilities
We are looking for young and promising individuals to join us as Trainee Bank Officer. As a Trainee Bank Officer in Group Business Banking, you will be given the opportunity to understand Corporate Banking products and service our corporate customers, ranging from small and medium-sized enterprises to large conglomerates. You will be trained professionally to deliver solutions-oriented and prompt after-sales service for corporate customers at our Commercial Service Centre.
