Job Title: Skills Marketing Executive
Reporting to: Assistant Director – Skills National Accounts (plus take direction from other senior staff)
Role Overview:
- Support mostly the Ixion regional account sales team and field based employer engagement executive with marketing activity.
- Oversee Corporate Marketing and websites etc, working directly with Ixion’s Group CEO.
- Devise and execute local tactical marketing campaigns to support our contracts.
- Be creative with the ability to design digital adverts/campaigns, leaflets, flyers etc.
- Oversee the VLE and distance learning website, IxionCollege.co.uk as directed by Head of Service for this area.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Ensure the high availability of Ixion’s brand(s), web presence.
- Provide tactical support and maintain our re Facebook/ Twitter/ Social media, Leadpages, Eventbrite & our own websites and leaflets etc
- Grow the digital (and traditional media) footprint of clients and potential clients for taking our services to clientele and the contacts (both B2B and B2C) to support the Skills division.
- Execute regular e-mail campaigns to the databases.
- Produce & execute e-mail and database targeted skills campaigns (using e.g. Dotmailer)
- Lead and deliver other marketing campaigns as designated by the CEO and COO.
- Responsible for the daily input and content management - website / mobile content (content uploaded daily, tagging, SEO advice, SEO Metadata Entry etc.) that maximises the brand impressions online including mobile devices e.g. On search engines.
- Responsible for Content Management - Website / Mobile Content (content upload, tagging, SEO advice, SEO Metadata Entry etc) that maximises the brand impressions online/mobile and major skills contracts.
- Devise, gain approval and execute marketing strategies to support Skills & other contracts that attracts relevant individuals and employers.
- Accountable for the daily, weekly and monthly marketing targets
- Conduct analysis, reporting on effectiveness of SEO and identification of problem areas that may affect search engine rankings and take remedial action to ensure the natural search engine algorithms promote our brands in a cost effective manner.
- Monitor level of assigned tickets and if necessary communicate any particular drop / concerns with performance or identified trends to your line manger in a timely and professional manner.
- Manage affiliated programmes and 3rd party relationships / partners.
- Engaging (and the team) in daily “blogging” activities to promote Ixion and the Company’s offerings.
- Design and produce creative products for digital adverts and other media used by Ixion.
- Awareness of current and researching new technologies associated within digital marketing. Identifying and suggesting value added initiatives to your line manger and implementing agreed solutions thereafter.
- Assist colleagues with digital & email marketing their business for critical projects.
- To work closely with our parent and with the support of the Marketing team, ensure that their Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) is integrated into Ixion’s digital platforms and operations on a day to day basis. To work with Ixion’s operations team to ensure that all relating course materials etc. are live and available / accessible to clients and client VLE codes are dispatched in a timely and accurate manner.
- Devise B2B and B2C strategies, working with the operational teams to build awareness & increases traffic to our offered services (e.g. to IxionCollege.co.uk) from third party organisations.
- Any other duties as required by the Chief Executive Officer/COO (or line manager)
- Understand and adhere to all responsibilities to ensure that the quality requirements of Ixion’s Quality Assurance Framework, the prime contractor, funding body, Investors In People, OFSTED, DWP Quality Framework, or any other contract stakeholder, are maintained

- Work flexibly in the field and across offices, as and when directed by line manager.
- As necessary, and in addition to the above, undertake other activities commensurate with the nature of the post.

Experience and Qualifications required
Essential

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Essential

Ideal Requirements:
- Must have extensive knowledge of website design and development, front end scripting, server technologies and application frameworks. Ideally but not limited to supporting WordPress.
- Extensive knowledge of web development, modifying code for sites and plug-in (minimum); WordPress, HTML 5, CSS, HTML and for the updating of web software/plug-ins.
- Experience with digital tools for auditing, rankings, research etc.
- Excellent knowledge of Google Analytics, Google AdWords, Google Keyword Planner, Google Webmaster or other analytics platforms and can demonstrate a minimum front line use of these skills for the last year leading to commercial outcomes.
- An understanding of e-mail systems (e.g. Dotmailer) for outbound campaigns using in-house and bought data.
- A knowledge of or commercial experience with WordPress, SEO and Digital Marketing in a front line environment where it has been your core purpose of your role for the last 2 years or more.
- Proven knowledge and experience working with:
- Ecommerce
- Search Engine Optimisation
- Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIN etc)
- Forums & Blogs (etc)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisation skills.
- Ability to work individually and within a team environment.
- Customer focused with a flexible approach to work and prepared to go the “extra mile”.
- A working day to day knowledge of; WordPress, HTML 5.0, CSS 3.0, JavaScript, JQuery.
- Analytical problem solving and workflow / prioritisation skills.
- Ability to work within tight timescales under pressure and using own initiative.
- Full understanding and experience of digital marketing channels.
- A self starter, accurate in their work re quality control.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
IDEALLY:
- Have in-depth technical digital marketing skills with proven track record of commercial outcomes from their own work.
- Likely to have a strong degree (2:1 or above) or equivalent and relevant digital or marketing qualification/s.
